Funny People: 3/10
Adam Sandler plays a famous comedian/actor who learns he has a debilitating illness and employs rookie comedian Seth Rogen as a writer and assistant to keep the lonely star company as he attempts to make the best of the rest of his life. Leslie Mann, Eric Bana and Jonah Hill co-star.
Ironic title. Unfunny, self-indulgent... strange movie. Sandler was unlikable, as was rogen somehow... i really like him usually! Most characters in it are annoying and very unlikable... I really didnt get this film!
Toy Story 3 9.5/10
The toys are back for the the third and final installment of Pixar's classic animated tale. Andy has grown up and is off to college, but where will Woody & co. end up as his bedroom is cleared of his childhood memorabilia? The gang are donated to Sunnyside Day care centre, where all is not what it seems! Fun for all ages here. Tim Allen, Tome Hanks and Joan Cusack reprise their starring roles and Whoopi Goldberg and Timothy Dalton make cameos.
Wow. Just wow. Pixar are geniuses. They just keep coming up with pure quality. You go into movies like this with trepidation that it may tarnish the legacy of it's predecessors in the series but there's no need for that here. Superb. Hilarious throughout and retains all of Pixar's tremendous storytelling, this one plays with the heartstrings in a way few films can. A lot of us have grown up with Toy Story and see it as a shining light that represents our childhood and all the fantasy, wonder, imagination and innocence that goes with it. Some very poignant moments, so those with leaky eyes had better bring the tissues! A true Classic.
