Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw
ALIEN
Ellen Ripley and her interstellar crew are trapped on their ship with a violent alien creature that has infiltrated the ship.
This is a classic. On the surface, its a Sci Fi film, but personally, I think of it as more of a horror film. The crew is trapped on this ship with clever, powerful, and quite honestly, frightening monster that picks them all off one by one. Ripley is one of the most bad ass character ever created, male or female, and the Alien is somewhat of a movie icon. I love this movie. Its scary, and great fun.
8/10
ALIENS
Following her survival of the initial Alien attack, Ripley is called back into action to assist a group of marines as they go to the Alien homeworld to save a colony the threat of these monsters.
This is a case where the sequel topped the original. Where the first film is more of a horror flick, this one is more action based with all sorts of weapons & gadgets being used to stop an entire hive of Aliens. Its a really cool film, and Ripley is once again one tough bad ass chick. My only real knock on it is that it does take a while for the story to get going, but once it does, its non stop excitement and thrills. I love it. Great film.

i prefer Aliens as well. i love them both, but one came off as more of a horror, and the other as more of an action. and the action one was better IMO.

The Prestige - Probably one of Nolan's worst films. This of course makes it better than most films anyway. It's a good effort here, but I felt the Prestige if you will was a little unsatisfying. Enjoyed the rivarly throughout the film though and it was still really good. 8/10 I'd say.
Inception - 10/10 go fucking see it. Might like it more than Memento.

It's a good movie if you stop watching after the hospital scene.

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw

Three odd-ball scientists get kicked out of their cushy positions at a university in New York City where they studied the occult. They decide to set up shop in an old firehouse and become Ghostbusters, trapping pesky ghosts, spirits, haunts, and poltergeists for money. They wise-crack their way through the city, and stumble upon a gateway to another dimension, one which will release untold evil upon the city. The Ghostbusters are called on to save the Big Apple.
Finally after countless times getting interrupted watching this movie I finally got to sit down and watch it from start to finish. Well worth it too. This might be bold but this movie feels like the most iconic movie of the 80s. Anytime I picture big movies of the 1980s Ghostbusters always pops into my brain. It's weird because this movie plays like a cult classic but is a box office blockbuster. It hits every cylinder you'd ever want it too, nothing's perfect though. I felt the movie took awhile to get going at the beginning and some of the special effects appear to a tad dated (but that kind of makes it cooler imo). I can't wait to pop in Ghostbusters II and see what happens next. I'm also hearing a 3rd is in the works with the same director & cast this makes me happy.

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw
I'm not sure which scene is my favorite in Ghostbusters, but I love the scene where Murray/Vinkman is doing the telepathy tests with the hot blonde and other guy. The other guy is actually getting them right and she's never right, but he, of course shocks the guy and spares/flirts with the chick. Classic. Dr. Peter Vinkman is the shit.

AVP: Alien vs Predator (2004)
I didn't go into this expecting much, but I have to say I was pleasently surprised. Both creatures in this film kick some serious ass,(could the Predator be anymore badass?), and the CGI and cinematography are great, the human acting left a lot to be desired though, very wooden and cliche which I suppose was to be expected in a film like this, cant Hollywood just give us some badasses from the 80's and early 90's action films and some one liners, everything is so serious, meh. Anyway I would say this was a moderately entertaining movie.

Lmao! Yes! For a second I thought that was Rick Moranis, but it isn't. Haha.

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw

Five years after the events of the first film, the Ghostbusters have been plagued by lawsuits and court orders, and their once-lucrative business is bankrupt. However, when Dana begins to have ghost problems again, the boys come out of retirement only to be promptly arrested. The Ghostbusters discover that New York is once again headed for supernatural doom, with a river of ectoplasmic slime bubbling beneath the city and an ancient sorcerer attempting to possess Dana's baby and be born anew. Can the Ghostbusters quell the negative emotions feeding the otherworldly threat and stop the world from being slimed?
I can't understand why this movie has gotten so much flack! It's great! Yes, not as good as the original Ghostbusters, but not by too much. I felt like all the characters clicked really well here, they know there parts very well and it shows. I felt like they could have developed the villain a bit better especially at the end didn't seem to pose much of a threat (doesn't compare to the Marsh mellow Man ) But still nevertheless delivers on all fronts. Any fan that hasn't seen GB2 due by poor reviews or anything, ignore that. Go see it and get slimed (because there's a lot of it here!). Highly underrated sequel.
