I like the Dawn of the Dead remake better. I like the beginning when they have Johnny Cash's "When the Man Comes Around" playing while showing the montage of society crumbling. I also liked that they don't know why there are zombies, where as in 28 days later they are infected with monkey rage.

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw

Not just you McQueen. It gets me every time.

Both capture the sense of foreboding doom like all great zombie movies need to. I like Dawn of the Dead a bit better for many of the same reasons you cite Myers. Dawn had a better sense of humor too. 28 Days Later is still an epically awesome zombie flick though. The tunnel scene is greatness. I would fucking hate to have to change a tire in zombieland.

EDIT: Oh and Return of the Living Dead is about as good as it gets too. If anyone hasn't seen this classic, they need to.

Send...more...paramedics...

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw

I liked both 28 days and 28 weeks later, even though the sequel had nothing to do with the original characters.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
- A thriller based off the book by Stieg Larson is the story of a journalist who is hired to investigate the cold case of a missing woman who is believed to be murdered. He is helped by a young but troubled computer prodigy/hacker, but along away they find many dark secrets about the missing womans family and realize that everyone is a suspect. It's a good mystery/thriller type of movie, and the movie was made in denmark so expect there to be subtitles. If you get a chance, I would recommend reading the book to. 7/10

I'm not sure. I enjoy them both about the same...meaning I love 'em both. But if I had a gun to my head *and yes that would probably be a turn on* I'd have to pick 28 Days Later...just by a hair or so.

But you are correct about the humor of Dawn... the sniper scene from the rooftops is hilarious. Also there's a special feature on the DVD about the guy on the other roof that I love... Now I've changed my mind and I'll pick Dawn.

I remember watching that thing about Andy in the gun shop.

Sniper scene was pretty funny, so was Ty Burrell's character, he was such a dick.

And that's being somewhat generous.

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw

Predators- a film about a group of people who are sent to a planet, filled with Predators and their struggle to survive. Starring Adrien Brody (Splice), Laurence Fishburne (Armored), Alice Braga (Repo Men), and Topher Grace (Valentines Day). Let me start off by saying I am a very huge fan of the first Predator, and even its sequel. I fucking hate AVP and AVP 2 with a bloody red passion. Its a pleasure to say this one knocks the bad taste the AVP films left out. Its a very solid thriller, with great characters and great action. The Predators looks badass as usual, and if you are a fan of the original, you will feel pleasure at the fact that most of the musical score is the same as the first. There is even a mention of the events of the first film. Overall they got this series right back on the right track, and I'm happy to say I really enjoyed it.

8/10

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw

I haven't seen it yet, but I have to assume that almost everyone dies. It's a Predator movie. It's the duty of the Predator to own.
