Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw

I am not going to do a summary of the movies I rate, I am just going to rate them. Why? because my primary reason for posting here is off topic and I am just trying to stay on topic. I am wondering the title of a movie, this movie I saw on television when I was in Mexico about a year and a half ago. Now, this movie is about some giant flies (as in the bugs) that live in a church basement (I think); now I am not sure if they are mutated or not, I do not know the background story. Anyways, they eat people and yada yada. Some kid is obsessed with shoes and the flies disguise themselves in clothing and appear to be humans. This kid notices their feet and thinks they have weird shoes. I think the flies are afraid of light too, not certain though. Sorry if this all sounds really random but this is all I remember and hopefully a part of what I have said will sound familiar to someone in which they know the movie's title.

Here are my recent movie ratings:

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - 6.5/10
The Hangover - 7/10
Pulp Fiction - 10/10
Fight Club - 10/10
Taken - 8/10
The Negotiator - 7.5/10
The Green Mile - 10/10
Step Brothers - 6.5/10
Tropic Thunder - 6.5/10
Get Smart - 6.5/10
Darkness Falls - 5.5/10

Halloween 2(2009)

Lets just saw this movie was a huge letdown IMO. Rob Zombie ruined halloween with his attempt to make an "original" halloween film.It is pretty much a man with a beard and long hair walking around with a knife killing ppl.

The Dark Knight. Myth Busted.

District 9 - Everyone knows the plot by now. Very good movie, I was quite surprised. Here's hoping for District 10, 9/10.

The Haunting in Connecticut

Classical horror-movie about a haunted house. Good athmosphere but the end is a little boring.

The Final Destination- a film where a guy gets a premonition of an accident in a motorway, that leads to the audience members impending death. Starring Bobby Campo, Shantel VanSanten, and Haley Webb. Piece of crap beginning to end. the studio ran out of ideas, and this was watered down and was a complete waste of time. I can't find a redeeming quality for this film. Please end this film series right here, learn from the mistakes of this travesty.

And the original was...? Oh yes, a clean shaven man and long hair walking around with a knife killing people. That's right.

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw

Halloween II- a film where Michael Myers returns to try to kill his sister, Laurie Strode. Starring Scout Taylor-Compton (Wicked Little Things), Tyler Mane (Troy), and Malcolm McDowell (Bolt). I love the original films, and thought the 2007 remake was decent. But this film was a lot worse. The characters in the film were remarkably annoying. Sure the gore is there, but there is not much more to redeem this film. I love Rob Zombie, but he should put this series to rest as it is right now. Makes for an ok horror film, but it leaves for much more to be desired. At least they remembered to include the awesome Halloween theme.

5.5/10

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw

EDIT- Damn, didn't know I was the last to post.

The Hurt Locker- a film about an elite American bomb squad in Iraq, and their day to day activity whilst knowing of major threats and bombs that exist. Starring Jeremy Renner (28 Weeks Later), Anthony Mackie (Notorious), and Brian Geraghty (I Know Who Killed Me). Here is a very well made war film that deserves its praise. Its got so many tense moments where the lack of a musical score keeps you on the edge when you don't know what will happen next. One of the best films I have seen this year so far.

Well you say you watched the movie and yet you don't realize that he wore the mask like 90 percent of the time in Halloween 2?

Halloween 2

I absolutely loved the remake. I liked it better than the original actually simply because we got to see a little back ground on Michael Myers.

I was pretty disappointed with this one however. Absolutely loved the opening hospital scene but after that it went downhill for me. Zombie didn't even wanna make this movie but they were going to give it to someone else and he didn't want that so he agreed to make it. I wish he hadn't.

The first scene though is really well done and that 10-15 minutes of Michael Myers is the scariest Michael Myers I've seen so far.

6 out of 10 on the first viewing. The movie may grow on me however.
