Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw
Plenty of people in this thread give ridiculous ratings to films that barely deserve anything, it is nothing new.

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw
Tokyo Gore Police
In the future in Japan, police have become privatized and are run by a corperation. The police are in the midst of a war with people known as engineers. These "people" are violent, and if a part of them is cut off, the part re-emerges as a weapon. The only way to kill them is to remove a key shaped tumor from there body. The police use there best agent, Ruka, to combat these people. Now a series of grizzly murders occur in Tokyo, and Ruka must get to the bottom of it. However she learns that Corruption runs deep.
This movie is a japanese splatter flim, so there is a ton of blood and gore. The action is pretty cool and the effects are really off the wall. However the story is pretty bland and the script is really hit and miss. Also some of the scenes run a little to long and could have been cut out. Overall, if your a fan of the genre or just like very blood filled movies, i would reccomend it.
Rating: 5.5/10

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw
Fridays Movies
Revolutionary Road - **** (9/10)
- 2008 drama starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, directed by Sam Mendes. This is a marvelous film about that "fake ideal" of the American dream set around marriages in the 1950's and around those times. It is written with fierce dialogue, and strong characters worried about their future and ending up unhappy. DiCaprio and Winslet gave me absolute chills in this movie, as their chemistry together was perfect. Also spectacular as Michael Shannon, who plays a slightly mental intellectual who mirrors the thoughts of our main characters best. It is a very smart movie that digs in deep and draws some blood.
Angel Heart - ***1/2 (8/10)
- 1987 horror/thriller starring Mickey Rourke, Robert De Niro, and Lisa Bonet. Rourkes character is an investigator hired by a man named Cyphere (De Niro) to find out where Johnny Favorite is. As it slowly builds, we think it might just be a simple investigative story, but suddenly bodies start dropping and the horror starts coming for our protagonist. It's a very nit n' grit movie, directed with that usual detective style, and its great to watch the suspense build steadily, as quicker and quicker we realize just what is coming. Best of all, the payoff is great.
My Bloody Valentine 3-D - *** (7/10)
- 2009 slasher movie starring hot babes and cute guys. I dont really like slasher movies, but it was nice to see this one avoid that 30-45 minutes of bullshit in the beginning where the teens just run around, drink, and party, and get terrible plot exposition that goes nowhere. This gets straight into the killing, and really never stops. Its a great adrenaline rush, and a straight-up fun time at the theaters. Everything you'd expect from it is here. In 3-D or not, its a solid well-made horror movie.

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw
It really amazes me at how high someone will rate average movies lol I guess some people don't care how seriously their opinion is taken. *shrugs*

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw
or they just like what they like. youre not the judge of what an average movie is. no one is. the greatness of movies is based around opinions, is everyone here that arrogant they think they are the judge of what is average and what isnt?
like, do you want everyone to all have the same taste, and to all praise the films that you praise? Thatd be a pretty shit movie world in my opinion. If you dont agree with what someone rates an "average" movie, that doesn't mean their opinion suddenly becomes invalid. Maybe to you, but thats just you. but since you don't make up the entire world of moviegoers, im sure their opinion is still pretty valid to a nice amount of people, considering just how many people enjoy a lot of "average" like movies.

Taming of the Shrew!
Just did a review for class!
Nolo King actually loved the movie, despite the fact that it had quite a crude message, also because Elizabeth Taylor was so damn hot in this movie, 9/10, lawls!
