Mirrors- a film about an ex-undercover cop, who is haunted by mirrors and the dangers they bring. Starring Kiefer Sutherland (24), Paula Patton (Deja Vu), and Amy Smart (Crank). I didn't really like the acting in this film, and think it could have been done better. The plot is good, and the scene with Amy Smart in the mirror is pretty damn gripping. I am torn on whether to give this film a seven or a six, so I will settle in between.

I have two movies this time... I'll start with the garbage movie first.

1. Keeping The Faith starring Ben Stiller, Jenna Elfman (Dharma from Dharma and Greg), and Edward Norton

This movie was absolute garbage. It was a romantic comedy that wasn't funny at all. Just about the only thing that was funny about it was Ben Stiller's attempt to not look like complete shit next to Ed Norton. We all know Father Brian Finn should've got the girl. Life sucks.

Rating: 3/10 (Woulda been a 1, but Ed Norton's in it)

2. The Painted Veil starring Naomi Watts, Edward Norton, and a lot of cholera ridden chinese people.

Plot Summary: Noami Watts cheats on Ed Norton (yea, I couldn't believe it either) with some mad ugly guy named Charles Townsend. As a punishment, good ol' Ed (who goes by the name of Walter Fane) takes her to a cholera ridden village.

My Thoughts: If you happen to be a male chauvinist, you will love this movie. I swear, Naomi Watts' character gets owned about every three minutes, and you can see that Ed Norton is obviously light years smarter than this dumb ho. I was really enjoying the film until the ending which could've been so much better in my opinion, but it's still a solid film overall. Ed Norton plays a great role as usual.

Rating: 7/10 - Ending was lackluster at best, not enough dramatics to get truly impacted. The rest of the film was written rather well though. Solid acting by Norton and Watts. I'd love to tell you they have great on-screen chemistry, but that's not the case at all (you'd know what I mean if you saw this film).

Star Wars: The Clone Wars- a film about the Jedi Knights and how they fare during the clone wars. This film is the chapter between Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith. Featuring the voices of Matt Lanter (Disaster Movie), Ashley Eckstein (Sydney White), and James Arnold Taylor (TMNT). Let me start off by saying I am a big fan of the Star Wars series. This film was not too exciting though. I got past the animation, but it was a poorly written story, and offered little substance in measuring up to the other films. Star Wars fans will be displeased.

Finally got the DVD of my absolute favorite movie of 2007. Great acting, interesting story, and one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard by Eddie Vedder. Incredible movie if you haven't seen it yet, I'd definitely recommend you check it out. More in-depth review HERE

What Happens In Vegas...- a film about a couple who get married after a short time in Vegas, and then must cope with each other. Starring Ashton Kutcher (The Butterfly Effect), Cameron Diaz (The Sweetest Thing), and Rob Corddry (Semi-Pro). I watched this when it released, but didn't pay much attention to it. Now I rewatched it again, and thought it was a great film. A nice blend of comedy and romance. Cameron Diaz is hot, and I really dig Ashton Kutcher's works.

[rec]- a film about a news reporter and her cameraman, who get trapped in an apartment building where the most disturbing of events take place. I don't want to give away too much, because I feel every horror movie fan needs to see this film. Its in Spanish, but you can get a copy with English subtitles. Its filmed in the style of the Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield. Its got amazing suspense and terror build up, and the filming method makes you feel like the story is real and you are in it. A great, chilling ending as well. A remake is gonna be made called Quarantine which releases on October 10th. A nice scary film to watch indeed.

12 Angry Men
(Sidney Lumet, 1957)

12 Angry Men focuses on a jury's deliberations in a capital murder case. A twelve-man jury is sent to begin deliberations in the first-degree murder trial of an 18-year-old accused of stabbing his father.

Eleven of the jurors immediately vote guilty; only Juror No. 8 (Mr. Davis) casts a not guilty vote. At first Mr. Davis' bases his vote more so for the sake of discussion after all, the jurors must believe beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant is guilty. As the deliberations unfold, the story quickly becomes a study of the jurors' complex personalities, preconceptions, backgrounds and interactions. That provides the backdrop to Mr. Davis' attempts in convincing the other jurors that a "not guilty" verdict might be appropriate.

A taut, absorbing, and compelling drama that reaches far beyond the close confines of its jury room setting. The characters and powerful and provocative, the action intense and enthralling. An excellent Academy Award winning film, that keeps the viewer spellbound.

A personal favorite. A triumph in Hollywood filmmaking.

Your absolutely right, terrific film. The ending is one of the saddest parts I've seen in awhile. Vedder's music for the movie was awesome and fit the story perfectly. Very underlooked movie of 2007.
