Hot Fuzz
This movie comes from the same guys that wrote and starred in Shaun of the Dead. This really comes off as a very underrated comedy and a very good buddy movie. The humor mixes in with some suspense and a "who done it" mystery aspect that really plays out very well.

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw
Zodiac staring Jake Gyllenhaal and Mark Ruffalo
This is about the search for the Zodiac killer during the late 60s/early 70s in San Fransico from the point of view of a detective, reporter, and a cartoonist. It's well acted and enjoyable, but it lags in parts and is about fifteen minuets too long.

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw
Sunshine

"So if you wake up one morning and it's a particularly beautiful day, you'll know we made it"
Summary: (From Wikipedia) In the year 2057, the Sun is failing, and the Icarus project has been formed with the intent of travelling to the sun and detonating a massive thermonuclear payload to re-ignite it. Seven years before the events of the film, the spacecraft Icarus I was launched but failed for reasons unknown. The film opens with its successor, Icarus II, en route to the star. All of Earth's fissile material was mined for the two Icarus ships, and life on Earth is doomed if the mission fails.
The movie star Robert Capa (Cillian Murphy), the Icarus II's physicist and the creator of the two payloads. Over halfway to their destination (55 million miles from Earth), they pick up a distress beacon from the Icarus I, which is surprisingly very close to their destination, but seemingly derelict and in orbit of the sun. They are faced with the decision to respond to the distress beacon or continue towards their destination. The captain of the ship, Kaneda, gives the decision to the only man who can weigh the risks and benefits of answering the beacon, Capa. Based on the fact that "two last hopes are better than one," they change course to intercept the Icarus I and to secure a second payload. As the movie unfolds, the decision made by Capa takes the crew of the Icarus II towards the brink of their own humanity and are faced with the philosophical and scientific consequences of their mission.
Review: Everyone must see this movie. It is the epitome of a Sci-Fi classic. It has everything you could ask for: allusions to past sci-fi classics; stunning visuals; intelligent, smart, creative, and provocative script; amazing acting to spare and some excellent character development and people you generally will like and care about; and best of all, a touching and stirring soundtrack that isn't overt, but subtle in it's almost perfectness.
Rating: A+ or 10/10

Because I Said So- really was bored, so decided to check this out. I guess if you like mushy romantic films, this is for you. I didn't have to much interest while watching this film. Not many funny parts and I really got bored after 20 minutes, but managed to finish it.

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw

AvP: R
Plot Summary - Starting off from exactly the same point as the first. When a lone alien raises hell in a predator space ship. The craft crashes into Earth. The alien escapes and raises hell in the small town nearby. While a lone Predator is sent to terminate it.
*Spoilers Below*
Good Points
Lots of Action
Predators and Aliens
Unexpected Deaths. (The Blonde Chick, Stoners.)
Imporvement
It's a little too typical, filled with one liners and a lame little human backstory, it gets tiresome listening to all the humans whine and complain, and you end up falling asleep waiting for predators to kick some ass.
Final Grade
3/5
I feel like I got what I paid for. I didn't expect this to be ground breaking or a thought provoking movie. It was good, old-fashioned gory, fun. I would recommend to fans as it is vastly superior than the original AvP in my opinion.

good review of the movie, I was going to watch this film in the summer but forgot to do so for some reason. Definitely gonna catch it soon though, (didn't know Cilian Murphy was in it till now).
And about Because I said So, you are lucky you returned before watching 15 minutes into the film. Some where around that mark they show the mother (Diane Keaton), in her underwear. Thats where I really wanted to quit.

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw
just re-watched "In the Mouth of Madness" because its been more than 10 years since I last saw this 95 flick. Its one of those psychological horror thrillers. Sam Neill is a good fit for the role. Charlton Heston makes a cameo. I remember having been scared when I saw it originally. The movie does have a certain charm to it which years of movie watching hasnt eroded. Will give it a solid ***
