Without having so much as looked at this thread before, i came here to comment on "In Bruges" too...what are the odds?
Loved it. I really did.
Tons of character work, Colin Farrell on tip-top form (how rare is that?), great performances all over the place and a very - VERY - "different" movie.
Pitch black comedy, or rather, straight fish-out-of-the-water gangster comedy mixed with some really dark patches here and there.
Every character is solid and has weight, script is out of this world (the "Uzi" line, the bit about growing up on a farm and ofcourse "like Tottenham" had me laughing so hard
), plus Clémence Poésy in this film is one of the most beautiful women i've ever seen...
by me. It's not for everyone, as the post above me suggests, but if it's your cup of tea...you'll love it!
