Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw

John Rambo is living in south east Asia and asked by some missionaries for a ride getting into Burma. The missionaries get captured and Rambo and some mercenaries go in to get them out.

I liked this movie and thought it was far better than Rambo III. It was by far the most violent movie I have ever seen, but I believe it to be a realistic, if not tamed down portrayal of what is happening in Burma.

Of course that's just my opinion,

I could be wrong.

(But I'm not)

Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2- the sequel to the first film, in which a group of young campers visit the scene where the first project occurred. This film had disaster written all over it within the first three minutes. I thought it was a real step down, and very useless. The characters aren't likeable and the story is as cliched as it will get. I command you never to rent this film or even think of watching it.

Yeah it's definitely worth a rent. But rent it before you buy it because this might not be your type of thing.

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw

I've decided to give the first 5(yes i'm watching rocky 5 again) rocky's reveiws so i'll be posting them as i watch them

rocky 2

Story- after going the distance in the first one Rocky is just trying to live life outside the ring and is having a hard time. In the mean time Apollo Creed who is mad about the outcome of the first fight wants a rematch.

Acting- It's not as good as the first one but still good

Overall- this is probably the closest to the original the sequals got and it's a good movie 8/10

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw

**May contain spoliers for you, I tried not to tell story**

[Rec] is a Spanish (spoken in spanish also) camera held horror zombie film, (Zombies as in the 28 days later type) that I think is the best horror film I have seen, since, well... 28 days later, those many years ago. Sadly, over here and in America it's always going to be seen as "that other hand-cam movie" - yet this was out in Spain over a year ago, so didnt do any copying really.

It has a simple premise; late night TV presenter Angela and her unseen, camera-man Pablo are doing an article upon fire-fighters, they meet some firemen, and get called out to a building where there seems to have been a spot of trouble. After a few excellently done scares and tension, we find out they're trapped under quarantine, with talks of a virus outbreak.

At only 72 minutes long, it's an incredibly undiluted experience. There's no chance for bullshit filler, like in Diary of the dead, and no time for a breather once it gets going, and this works heavily in it's favour. All action is amazingly frenzied and realistic, the camera getting shakier, but doesnt make you sick like in Cloverfield, and the more scared Pablo gets, which is really done well as you can hear him talking to himself etc.

The final 20 minutes or so of the film are real edge-of-your-seat, top quality filming, hide-behind-the-cushion, taking a dramatic twist that will genuinely scare you shitless, ending with a horrific final shot that will linger in the memory for weeks to come.

If you liked 28 days later, horror films, or even original films, I highly recommend this film to you. You will have to read subtitles but there isn't too much chatter anyway.

Also see it before, the undoubtedly, shite Hollywood remake that is being remade right now, that they will butcher it with filler and cliché.

I rate this film; 9.3/10.

EDIT: Just found out that the remake is called: Quarantine and is out around October this year.
Trailer here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=eNnZTMpZvNE
It looks like theyve changed the story alot for fuck sake.

**Dont read this if you intend on watching it**
In that trailer, the brilliant ending is shown, I dont know why, as thats the best bit in the film, and the woman acting in it looks so fucking stupid there. Honestly, if you watch the film, and watch that trailer again, it looks ridiculous.

RIP James Nolan

Baby Momma

It's a cute little film that may or may not tug at your heart strings. It's worth a watch if you've got nothing else to do

6 out of 10

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw

Awesome movie ^, I almost like it better than the first one... almost.

Don't Mess With The Zohan

I was pretty skeptical about checking this movie out after watching some of the trailers for it. Yes, it's a movie that's not meant to be taken seriously, I knew that from the get go. I love goofball, brainless and slapstick comedies, but there is a thin line between that and just plain idiotic, such as Date Movie and Epic Movie. Yes, they are meant to basically suck because they're satire in nature, but to me, they aren't even funny in the slightest.

It's been awhile since I've seen Sandler do something this off the wall. Yes, he's been doing comedies over the past 4-5 years, but we've seen the more serious side of him as well, such as in Reign Over Me, Spanglish, Punch-Drunk Love and Click to a lesser extent.

The first 10 minutes or so of this movie really turned me off from it. It was so off the wall and trying way TOO hard to be funny, that it had the complete opposite effect on me. It didn't really start getting better until Zohan came to America, then it really started picking up.

I won't spoil anything, but will say that I found myself in stitches throughout this movie. Clearly this movie has a lot of re-hashed, cliche' humor, but it still set out what it accomplished for and that's to make people laugh and laugh I sure did.

I'd have to give this a 7 out of 10, just for making me bust a gut so many times.

Stupid, brainless, not meant to be taken seriously, if you look past the obvious, you may find a few good laughs in this one.

It's worth checking out.
