The Strangers

I love going to a good scary movie on a date. It's my favorite kind of date movie. I was really looking forward to this movie and it delivered on some parts and left me rolling my eyes on others.

I agree with 2Slick on what he said about the movie. I loved how creepy it was and I loved the total mood set for the movie. The usual scary movie cliche's are present in here with the exception of the cat/mouse/rat/dog jump scene where they try to fool you into believing something is going to happen but it doesn't. No pets or rodents to be found here. But it just seemed like everything that was about to happen was easily telegraphed which kills alot of the suspense. Never-the-less I enjoyed myself and had a fun night of it.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

As a long-time fan of the series, I felt that this one was an interesting movie much like the rest of them. Internet critics can say what they want, but as a long-time fan of the series, I found this to be one of the most interesting of the series. I love how everything came together and it connected with the past movies as well. I highly recommend this movie if you've seen the other movies from the series, you won't be let down unless you rely on the words of some critic who just loves to bash and trash because he can.

Poltergeist

This is an old school horror flick. One that was way ahead of it's time if you ask me. I was four years old when it came out and I remember it scaring the you know what out of me. I always had nightmares about the tree for weeks on end.

It deals with a little girl that gets pulled into the other side, which is basically through their television set. Her family has to fight fruitlessly to track her down with the help of some experts on Poltergeists and phenemenons such as this.

Even to this very day, I think the movie holds down very well through the course of time. Obviously no CGI was utilized, as it was made around 25-26 years ago. It is very creepy and scary.. even with the PG rating.

9/10, one of my favorite horror movies of all time, period.

Yes, it was on my trusty 1976 19" color TV that had the built in ping-pong game, played it so damn much, the volume busted.

Yeah, yeah, I know what you really meant, now post a damn movie summary already.

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw

Suicide Club (2002)

A detective tries to figure out why 54 schoolgirls all jumped to in front of the train to their deaths. As the country is sweep up in a string of suicides he tries to get to the bottom of why and whom are responsible.

One of the first Asian "Horrors" I saw, and one that really got me really interested in the genre. It's not so much a horror as it is a social commentary on Japan. In it's high suicide rate and the disconnect from each other. So many bizarre scenes which at first glance don't make a whole lot of sense start to become clearer as you realize the message the movie is trying to send. This features some very gory parts including graphic scenes of a lady chopping her fingers off, the aforementioned 54 offing themselves, slit throats etc... Definitely not for the weak of heart, but it's so much fun to watch again after all these years and care about the message not just the gore which is all I remembered about it. To see what this surreal strange movie is all about, here's a fan video someone made.(p.s for anyone interested the whole movie is available on YT as well.)

9/10

Kung Fu Panda- a film where an unlikely Panda is named Dragon Warrior and he must battle a fierce and dangerous enemy. Featuring the voices of Jack Black (Be Kind Rewind), Angelina Jolie (Mr. and Mrs. Smith), and Dustin Hoffman (Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium). This film was very good, with many great moments. Po the Panda is a very likable character and it was well put together. I think this film may be the best animated film of this year. Good stuff, a film for the whole family.

Don't Mess With The Zohan
Adam Sandler plays "The" Zohan, an Isreali elite military unit who wants to quit the army.... to cut hair in New York City, that fagela. Well honestly this movie was really dumb (as expected) but it was dumb in a way that it was enjoyable and I found myself chuckling quite a bit. Don't take it seriously at all and its enjoyable enough. I liked the ongoing joke about Hummis.

Rating: B (for enjoyment reasons)

Kiss of the Dragon
Staring Jet Li and Bridget Fonda. The story revolves around a Special Undercover Chinese Agent (Li) sent to Paris to work with the police force there to catch a Chinese Drug Smuggler. However, eveything changes when he is set up for a double murder. Now he is on the run, trying to escape with his life and at the same time help a prostitute (Fonda) get her daughter back. Jet Li still blows me away with the work he is able to do. Seriously the man is unbelievable. I was more shocked when i found out only two of the scenes that were done in the movie invovled wire stunts. Fonda's character, however, annoyed the hell out of me. Jet li was the saving grace of this film.

Rating - C
