I was tempted to but T2 is a little different in style, tone and budget, for all-intensive purposes. The original had a gritty, B-movie feel where as T2 was a big-bang action spectacle. Do I love them both? Yes, but they are two different movies.

but why mention Aliens then? same point you made for Ridley's Alien and Cameron's Aliens

Return of the King wasn't a sequel to the original, it was the 3rd film. His references were to sequels that were better than their predecessor. Return of the King was deifinitely my favorite, but your point would only be valid if you said "Two Towersis is better than Fellowship of the Ring" (which it isn't).

Saw the Watchmen trailer tonight, and was fucking blown away.
Not only does it look awesome, but it actually looks completely accurate to the story.

I disagree a little. But the first 2 Terminator films are too debated upon by which is better, whereas Aliens is universally regarded as the better one and same for Empire over A New Hope

I went insane when I heard the infamous Terminator theme during the trailer in theaters. Watchmen also looks quite good.

SCJ you are right, I see a lot of people prefer the first Terminator over Judgement Day.
