The Dark Knight viral website WhySoSerious.com has been updated with a jack-o-lantern. The pumpkin has a huge grin, which appears to be the bat symbol. Could there be a Dark Knight treat in store for us on Halloween? Or is this just holiday window dressing?

The same pumpkin image appeas on the cover of the popular Jeph Loeb/Tim Sale graphic novel The Long Halloween, which was one of the books which was used as inspiration for The Dark Knight. It is also a personal favorite of current Batman star Christian Bale. The Long Halloween also featured the origin of Two-Face, which is likely mirrored in the new Christopher Nolan film.
UPDATE:
If you look again now, you'll see that the candle is really burning down more every day, making it more obvious that something might happen on Halloween.
Be sure to stay tuned to the site on All Hallows' Eve October 31st!
DC Comics' Greg Novek says that DC and Warner Bros. are intent on keeping the BEGINS/TDK separate from the JL Batman.
The Hong Kong shoot has been shortened (less days) and one or two of the stunts planned have been scratched. A TDK insider informed me that the Hong Kong shoot was cut only by 1 day and the stunts scratched were not crucial to the story. Also they are at day 107 of 125.
This is one of the “third hand information things,” but it originates from that OMELETE.COM report that I mentioned in a BOF story earlier in the week. Anyway, it seems that the crew from the aforementioned website was part of a TDK set visit in the UK and that’s where they learned about that 7 minute prologue that will allegedly be attached to I AM LEGEND‘s IMAX run in December.
But there was some other stuff disclosed as well, like…
* Batman operating outside of Gotham (I’m pretty sure it’s Tokyo *wink*).
* Gotham City will go through a "white night" in the story.
A "White Out" is when a city never sleeps and everything stays open all night.
