Just watched a new show of the season "Kotoura-san" it's about a girl who have been able to read minds ever since she was little, and well you can expect how well it goes for a little kid that cant control mind reading and doesn't know to shut up.

Reading Berserk. Never gave it much of a chance when I read it first but reading farther into the Golden Age, I'm liking Guts a lot more, not to mention Griffith/Femto is still waiting to happen.

Before I moved to Japan, I used to be a huge anime fan and Japanophile; I've seen hundreds. In Japan, for over four years I worked in Akihabara, which is the anime, gaming, and technology mecca. I always joke that Akihabara cured me of my love of anime. Years ago, I never would have thought that I would stop being such a huge fan, but I guess times change. In the back of my mind the old me kind of regrets not once going to an anime convention or doing cosplay, but I guess I still could do it one day. As they say, once you live in Japan you always go back. I can only think of one character that I could cosplay at realistically.

I still have a ton of DVDs, shirts, manga, and other collectibles, though, and I still plan on buying all the anime that I ever liked but don't own yet, and some old popular ones I haven't seen yet. I just can't get into new anime, though. The only thing I saw new (that's actually old/ongoing) recently is the new Berserk movies, which if you haven't seen them, you must! When my friend and I watched the second one in the theater the sex scene was kind of uncomfortable. Berserk is one of my favorites. I used to read the manga, too.


I prefer subtitled over dubbed, usually, unless I saw the dub first and thought it was good. Some shows I can watch either way. My favorite anime of all time is 天空のエスかフローネ (Escaflowne) for so many reasons. No other anime has affected me like that one, in large part because of the music. I love it so much that I actually very rarely ever watch it, since, being a 26 episode show, I wouldn't want to get tired of. I guess I couldn't, really. Yoko Kanno's score is incredible. All her work is.

I love Dragonball Z, too. I have more Dragonball Z shirts in my old collection than any other. Tenchi Muyo and Universe, Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Hellsing, Blood+, Trigun, Armitage III, Blue Seed, Macross, the original Gundam, Gundam Wing...

I might have to watch some anime now.
