I could argue Pan contributed as well xD... female characters in Dragonball are kinda useless, other than Bulma (her scientific skill saved the day more than once) and C-18.

You mean outside of the hilarity that was making Gohan squirm just as much as Chi Chi would make Goku squirm, make Hercule slightly tolerable, as well as a somewhat fun to watch match (though a squash-match style fight)between her and Spopovich?
Videl's allot like most female, actually, most characters in general in the Dragonball Universe during Z and GT. They are introduced as strong, interesting characters, develop for a short period of time, then crashbomb to make way for a new juiced up level of Goku and/or Vegeta.

We all know the purpose of Bulma in DBZ was the eventual lead into the evolution of Trunks. However she's so integral to the story that she wouldn't be forgotten in all the sagas prior. She, much like Krillin, Yamcha, & the rest of the Dragon Ball crew fell behind in the major stories simply because of the level Z was taken to. Plus the introduction of characters like Vegeta & Gohan (Piccolo too since he was only in DB for the final stint) took over the primary roles w/Goku.

Ugh, DBZ might as well have never happened it was so dissapointing compared to DB, only thing it ever gave us that I liked was Mr Satan and Uubs little bit.

You must be joking, right?
Dragon ball Z was so much better than Dragon ball(imo), there is a reason why many people consider Dragon Ball Z to be one of the best if not the best anime ever.

I'd put the original Dragonball far above Z any day. It had a whole lot less "Why?" factor, and the fights were more entertaining.

I really can't see how is DB better than DBZ but that is your opinion. The fights were not more entertaining imo, the only ones I really enjoyed in DB was Kid Goku vs King Piccolo and Goku vs Piccolo.
That guy actually said DBZ was a disappointment, which is completely ridiculous.

That's the mainstream audience for ya. Dragon Ball Z was great. I'll love it always and forever. Better than Dragon Ball? Nah. I'd rank the two at the same level. Depending on what mood I'm in. Although lately I've really been leaning towards Dragon Ball. Goku as a thick, buff young kid tormenting Bulma in the early days is too good. Plus OOLONG kidnapping little girls to be his slaves.
Don't even get me started on how awesome the Goku vs King Piccolo & Tien was.
EDIT ~ Why is it ridiculous? Because you think so? Maybe he didn't like it. That can happen.

Which to a certain extent, I would actually agree with him.
Not for nothing, when I was younger, I thought DBZ was the greatest thing ever. But now there's allot of things in the series that actually makes it hard for me to watch, the most obvious being the episode long battle stalls.
As for Dragonball battles, Goku vs "Jackie Chung", Goku vs Tien, and Krillin (who I must stress, does NOT HAVE A NOSE) vs Bacterian are good ones to be noted.
