Re: Anime Discussion Thread
The Saiyaman Saga was quite awful, Gohan looked like a fucking joke.
The Saiyan Saga was great as well, the first battle between Goku and Vegeta is my favourite battle in DBZ.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread
Nah. It was awesome. Helped the flow of the show by giving it a needed break from where the Cell saga took it. Better than simply starting from World Tournament and showing that 7 years had randomly passed and now a new threat was looming. Not to mention it was a nice call-back to the roots of Dragon Ball.
Gohan did what he wanted to do. He was never a fan of fighting. If anything that saga captured him the best. Saving people, but in a manner that he enjoyed while also hiding his identity.
only joke in Dragon Ball Z is Kid Trunks. From the future he's a bad ass. When he's a kid he's a douche-bag.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread
Well I didn't enjoy the Saiyaman Saga, just my opinion. I agree that it needed a break from where the Cell Saga took it but they could have done something else. I don't know what but something better. Something more entertaining.
If Gohan didn't like to fight then why did he always wanted to train with his Dad and neglect his studies when he was a kid?

Re: Anime Discussion Thread
Because he had fun being with his dad and friends. Wasn't a fan of the parts when it was life and death however. That strong emotion is what caused his insane bursts of power throughout the show.

Is anyone really a fan of life and death?

Wasn't it because he didn't like seeing his friend get hurt? Like in the Cell saga for example, his friend were attacked by Cell's kids and he raged and transformed in Super Saiyan 2 or when Piccolo was getting owned by Frieza.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread
Exactly. He didn't like the violence. So he got PISSED by it. Gohan, much like Goku, is all about peace. Although, Gohan's rage seemed to be much more intense and less controlled via his youth so sometime he couldn't control himself when he saw something he didn't like.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread
No one likes to see their friends get hurt, Goku(who is definitely a fan of fighting) hated that as well.

Wait, hold up, what?
How did Videl, a character who was initially a prideful, challenge and justice oriented character who was prone to obsession due to hating the feeling of uselessness, if not outright bested, become another Bulma, a character who's an adventure bound, boy crazy, arrogant girl with a short temper with little reason behind it and tends to be more concerned with the common troubles of the stereotypical modern girl?
