Meh, can't help but disagree, Last Airbender it is certainly not, but alas I found it surprisingly enjoyable, though I do have to break down the several plots.

Main Plot: shockingly good

Bending League: nice, but needed more attention on the league to really be enjoyed

The Love Trian- Er... Square.... Cube?: whoever thought this up SHOULD BE SLAPPED.

Characters: the most part, nice... Zuko's decedent = Fail... 2 seconds of Aang's son/Tenzen's brother Bumi = EPIC. Lin Bei Fong = even more EPIC.

The big issue for me was the main love plot. It really did do damage to the series. Not enough for me to dislike Korra, but damn did it come close.

Korra was pretty solid to be honest. I actually probably preferred Korra to Aang. Saying that the sub-characters were nowhere near as interesting.

JT Martin, you are officially my go-to Anime guy. That series you recommended, Hagure Yuusha no Estetica is now on my top 5 non-mainstream favourite animes of all time. Finally a Leading Male character that's not an uptight massochist or nerd. Damn I loved that anime, I demand a Season 2 judging by the ending.

Any others you'd recommend?
Cheers.

Thanks.

I'll see what I can find.

EDIT: There's Samurai 7 which is a goodmix of comedy, action, and drama, then we have Casshern Sins and Deadman Wonderland. Casshern Sins has the best Opening and end theme.

Has the best opening of that group, or of all-time?

Has anyone else noticed that Anime is starting to outgrow it's own "usual" fanbase? Earlier today in school I was on my laptop doing my own thing, when someone played one of Bleach opening on his phone, it was a group of kids who looked like they new nothing about anime, but were very familiar with Bleach (and most likely other series), it took me by surprise really. They had an urban look and didn't look the slightest bit interested in Anime, I actually know one of the guys, which again is why I was taking by surprise. Didn't join in the conversation, but I did evasedrop a little.

I think its more of a case of some shows transcending the Anime boundaries than all of anime in general. Mostly Bleach, Naruto and One Piece are world wide hits now-a-days (even though i believe their popularity is starting to decline.)

its like back in the 90s, Anime wasn't particularly huge but almost everyone in my school knew who Goku was
