I hope not, like Hybrid said Bleach is coming off as super DBZ-ish. I love Bleach for its long overhauling fights, but let's face it they screwed us with Ichigo Vs Ulquiorra III. That was a fight I was looking forward to more than Ichigo vs Aizen considering this is one to only going to be one long ass continuous episodic fight, Ichigo/Ulquiorra had a number of fights that last a hell of alot of episodes. So you can see why I felt cheated with that one.
Oh yeah but if you look at the manga, they kept it loyal to the material. So much happened in those 4 episodes:
-Ichigo forces Ulquiorra to get serious right off the bat
-Ulquiorra steps it up & overpowers Ichigo w/Orihime standing by
-Ichigo puts on his Hollow Mask & surpasses Ulquiorra again
-Ulquiorra breaks into the sky over Las Noches & FINALLY releases
-Ulquiorra completely trashes Ichigo completely & overpowers him
-Ulquiorra kills Ichigo
-Ichigo resurrects as Hichigo & utterly molests Ulquiorra in every phase
-Hichigo goes insane & attacks Uryuu, simultaneous exposing the motive behind the transformation
-Ulquiorra saves everyone & Ichigo uses Instant Regeneration, furthering Hollow
The length might not have been where it should have been, I'll give you that but there's no other anime fight sequence in that span of time that's had THAT much progression. It's not as if they just pissed it away, it was jam packed & that's not even counting the other fights that occurred OUTSIDE the main battle during these episodes.
I'd prefer THAT to a drawn out affair with less progression & more filler.
