The fuck? I ALWAYS end up forgetting Toonami is on.
Gonna start setting a reminder in my phone or something.

It was fucking weird. That's for sure. The best ending will always be Gohan defeating Cell and Goku deciding to stay in the Other World.

Dragon ball Gt is shit compared to DBZ imo.

Not suprising, Dragon ball Z was a progressive slide downhill the entire series, should have ended with Frieza as intended.

I used to DVR the hell out of Adult Swim anime night, and then Toonami, but now that I no longer have DVR I have to use my iPhone to memorize the times for the anime I want to watch.
A possible update on Toonami by the way, rumor is going around FMA Brotherhood is not leaving, however, Cowboy Bebop is. Allot of people in a bit of an uproar, but honestly, I seen ever Bebop broadcast on Adult Swim/Toonami, that's what, 10-15 per episode? That's more times than I watched Dirty Pair Flash, King of Bandit Jing, Kenshin And Kenichi each episode combined. I'm ok with it taking a bow for the time being.

I agree with the sentiment of DBZ on the losing end of a rousing game of Shoots n' Ladders. But honestly, I wouldn't have been ok with the series just ending at Frieza. Heck, I wanted to see an aged Gohan too, and I didn't even hate the Sayaman/Gohan goes to school stuff. I just wish the series was dealt with better in terms of plot overall. The series literally came down to "the more juiced you are, the better chance you win" at least from Frieza and afterwards (Gohan defeating Cell excluded)
And I'm still really, really pissed how the tournament went down during the Buu Saga... Both times. First everybody floating off, and then 18 throwing the match.
And GT was.... Just bad...

Imo the end of the Frieza saga was better. Cell saga was my favourite though. I like the Majin buu saga but the start(The saiyaman thing or whatever) and the ending were shit. I don't think Goku should have left his family and trained with Uub. Plus Uub was pretty useless in the Gt saga. I also hated when they took out Majin buu(one of my favourite characters) in the Gt saga just to fuse with Uub.
Gt was just horrible. They completely screwed up. There was so many terrible episodes in the start of the saga.
The biggest mistake they made was turning Goku into a kid.
Trunks, Gohan and Goten shouldn't have stop training.
They should have ended it in DBZ.
The only good thing about GT was Super Saiyan 4.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread
GT had amazing potential with the story arcs Toriyama came up with.
Black Star Dragon Balls created by Kami before he split was an interesting development. Having to search for the balls across the universe and the consequence of making a wish using the balls was also a good idea. In fact, the beginning episodes of GT before things get supr srs aren't altogether bad.
The main problems? Goku's a kid again. WHAT WHY? WE DID THIS ONCE BEFORE. Trunks is a jobber. Future Trunks was badass, and easily the most tragic figure in the DB universe. But present Trunks is Gohan level nerd. Also GOHAN IS A NERD WHAT THE FUCK? Kid defeated Cell. Probably should've just stayed on Supreme Kai's planet or something with him being Mystic Gohan and all.
PAN. She is the most frustrating thing ever. Not surprising b/c she is the daughter of nerd Gohan and bitchy Videl. Was this some lame attempt at recreating Goku/Krillin chemistry from Dragonball? So much failure.
Dragon Ball never took itself too seriously until the very end with King Piccolo. DBZ was always about the universe being destroyed. GT tried to do both and messed it all up.
I mean c'mon. How cool is the idea of a Tuffle survivor (Baby) hunting the Saiyans. How cool is that the dragon balls have limit and spawn these shadow dragons? (Well the dragons ended up sucking, most of them, but the idea is cool).
Rant over.
Also, Super Saiyan 3 was unnecessary. 4 was fucking overboard.
Rant really over.

I disagree with the Super Saiyan 3 being unnecessary, Goku was pretty cool in that form. Gotenks too. I loved Super Saiyan 3.
Seriously what I don't get is what the fuck happened to mystic Gohan, he was so good when he faced Buu and I thought he would have gotten stronger. But no, he just had to stop training again. I hated the idea of him becoming a nerd. Goten and Trunks were shit after Buu saga. They were super saiyan already when they were kids. If they were like Goku, they would have been so much stronger. Future Trunks was awesome though, wished we could have seen more of him after the cell saga. He is the reason why the Cell Saga was the best imo.
I also think that Goku didn't care about his family and friends in both DBZ and GT. He only cared about fighting. If he did care about them he wouldn't have trained with Uub (who should have never been in the story in the first place) for such a long time and would have meet his friends more often.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread
Super Saiyan Fusion would've sufficed for Gotenks and SS3 didn't really serve any purpose for Goku except, like you said, the cool factor.
In any case, nobody but Gohan had achieved true Super Saiyan 2 until the Buu arc. And since Gohan got weaker, Super Saiyan 2 could've easily been the barrier again.
Goku cares about his family and friends a lot, it's just not the type of caring that associates with spending time with them, more along the lines of "I'll protect you guys if you ever need me. See ya, Goku out."
Well, he was like that in Dragon Ball too.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread
I only watch a few episodes of Dragon ball so I didn't know.
Why do you think SS3 did not serve any purpose to Goku?
