Re: Anime Discussion Thread

Was reading Naruto, and Itachi stopped the edo tensai by Kabuto.

Quote:
Description: Ninpo • Kuchiyose • Edo Tensei is a Ninjutsu technique which had been Forbidden because of its dark nature. The technique involves the summoning of dead souls from the afterlife back into the real world. Normally Kuchiyose (summoning) involves the use of the caster's blood as compensation for summoning, Edo Tensei is different though. The ninja will first sacrifice a living person to provide the vessel that the dead soul will inhabit. The dead body will then be incased in ash and dirt to resemble the soul of the person that was resurrected. When the ninja wishes to recall the souls, a portal will open in the ground and the caskets holding the bodies will appear. When the caskets open the bodies will be grey and in a state of minor decay. At this point the dead souls are able to remember their past life, but they are at the command of the one who summoned them. One final act will fully wipe out their conscious and make them under the command of the one who summoned them. The ninja will place a 'fuda' (charm/tag) of some form into the head of the body. This will then give vitality back to the body and make it a pure killing machine.

When a portion of the dead body is damaged, the ash and dust will merely return and fix the damaged body part. The only way currently known to stop the resurrected person, is to utilize the Shiki Fujin technique and remove the soul from the body.
And now Kabuto is trapped in a genjutsu (illusion) loop and Sasuke still wants to get revenge on the leaf village. He might be foolish tbh, because he's by himself and the Akatsuki is pretty much no more. All they have is Sasuke and the dude who was pretending to be Madara with the mask. The latest chap was a good one, and proved the Madara is BOSS, and nobody can stop him realistically.

Second last episode of Fate/Zero season 2 aired, it was awesome, Rider vs Archer, Saber vs Berserker, just awesome fights, good revelation (even though I expected it) but I'm now fucking pumped for last episode next week!

Anybody been watching the stuff on Toonami on Saturdays? I've accidentally missed it each week and I'm hoping not to forget tomorrow.

So far, Toonami's return has been a good one. Deadman Wonderland, for me at least, has been the breakout star, mainly because I just finished Casshern Sins on Netflix just a few weeks before Toonami started showing it, and Bleach, while in an Arc that's not bad at all, is still Bleach. Still, Deadman's mystery is just fun to try a put the pieces together, and tonight's episode should start opening up some answers, or at the least clues.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread

Deadman Wonderland was one of those animes that I wanted to watch but never gotten around to actually watching it. Thanks to Toonami I finally did. It's pretty damn good except for the main character's voice but that is more of a dubbing problem. Also kept thinking that the one girl with silver hair was naked xD. But I was hoping for a better variety like Gundam or Rurouni Kenshin. Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell is great and all but Adult Swim already occasionally broadcasted them.

Anyway, I just watched the newest episode of Korra.
Spoiler for Latest Korra episode:
Lin is by far the most badass character and I cried when she sacrificed her bending to save Korra and Tenzin's family. for General Iroh

Re: Anime Discussion Thread

Having not seen the dubbed version of DMW I can only groan at the thought of his voice being worse than the japanese voice cast for him, I hated his Japanese voice.

But guys, this weeks episode of Fate/Zero was so fucking great! just sayin'

I also expected at least one Toonami classic revive (personally, I was hoping for Tenchi, and as much as I dislike it, that includes "In Tokyo") but I heard they were on a rather strict "probational" budget (as in "let's give it a shot, do good, mo' money for anime!") so I didn't bank on too much. Continuous support might change that though.

I think the English dubbed voice of DMW's main character was inteded to be "intentionally grating to offset character's true willpower" much like Baccanno!'s Jaccuzzi or Evangelion's Shinji, however, unlike Jaccuzzi and to a much lesser extent Shinji, it didn't quite capture the intended feeling.

Spoiler for Latest Korra episode:
I kinda get the same feeling for General Iroh's voice too... The character looks well older than the voice. Lin's bad-ass scale went up by 1000 points (like mother like daughter I guess, fear the awesomeness of BeiFongs)

Re: Anime Discussion Thread

Just remembered Toonami was on and watched Ghost In The Shell. I forget that I enjoyed this show. I need to catch Deadman Wonderland. Probably DVR the replay.

Wish DBZ/Yuyu Hakusho/Ruroni Kenshin were on there though. Three of my favorite shows.
