I watched My Neighbor Totoro yesterday. Really good film, i mean it had no antagonist and practically no real plot, but still it kept me glued to my seat the whole time. Miyazaki is a bloody genius.

It is over analyzing. The chance someone in far eastern culture would know the depths of Christianity to the point of writing a story about them is extremely unlikely.

What it really is, is that because the bible is a collection of generic stories (mostly taken from other older religions) they are vague enough to be comparable to most stories told.

Hands down the truth right there.

I seen most of his films by now. Just amazing movies all the way.

Meh you could say that but you never really know. Other cultures do look in & get involved into other things alot. It was just a simple theory I thought about. Not the first time I've been hit with over-analyzing something. Surprised no one's given me a nickname out of it. I'd rock it

@Swagger I probably die laughing. I actually thought it was cool that "Kurama" & Naruto can finally co-exist. In japanese folklore is the King of Apes literally named Goku? I thought MvC2 & Dragonball were just creations.

I'm waiting for Black Rock Shooter in February.
The only new series I'm following is Poyopoyo Kansatsu Nikki, the comedic adventures of a spherical cat. It is five minutes and is worth every second

Some anime do borrow ideas and locations from other cultures. Gunsmith Cats comes to mind. An anime that takes place in Chicago. Some say it's a very westernized anime. Baccano's setting seems very western as well. Aria takes it setting from Venice. Panty and Stocking is influenced by western cartoons and movies.

But Naruto, I can't see the correlation between that and the Bible. Naruto, by it's very nature, has tons of japanese folklore. On top which, as Saints said, you can apply and compare characters and story to any work of literature or art, if you look deep enough and over analyzed. Every major story has been told, it's just a matter on how it's told.

So anybody else planning to see the new Fullmetal alchemist movie that's coming out? I know it's nothing more than a cash in on the success of Brotherhood, but i'm still pretty darn excited for it. FMA has never disappointed IMHO.

I heard the American remake of Akira has been postponed indefinitely...

Should I get the celebratory poppers and confetti?
