Re: Anime Discussion Thread
I am probably gonna catch up on Bleach someday but man, that Aizen battle was a bit disappointing for me. Then the full bring story was taking some lack luster steps to getting to the point.

Yeah, I honestly felt the same, but the Winter War Arc provided us with some amazing fights, and I knew all along the Aizen fight would be a let down. As I think about it, even though Byakuya fit perfect in the Soul Society Arc (being Rukia's brother), I would have really like his strength right up their under Ichigo's.
I am particularly partial to Byakuya's cocky, aristocratic demeanor and his Senbonzakura Kageyoshi.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread
Bleach and Naruto have both disappointed me as both were hyped to no end. The characters, especially the main ones, felt flat and uninteresting. The both stories and arcs felt like trying make one arc bigger and epic than last, while there was no need for it. I never understood why these series have to go on an eternity of a journey that will become stale and boring. Even the best animated shows never went past 100 episodes.

What about One Piece? There's that trilogy of never ending stories (it fucking ended in Bleach after Aizen, and it's still going???), but to me at least, OP is still fresh somehow, though I can't really figure out how.
Just watched Howl's Moving Castle on tv yesterday btw, was pretty good.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread
I'm waiting on more Dub of Naruto Shippuden getting a little impatient honestly. As for Bleach them continuing the story after Aizen's defeat was stupid, sometimes people need to realize when there's a perfect opportunity to bring a story to it's close.

Loyal fan base equals money, not to mention they are both Shonens.

Not a fan of that either, but I haven't let the overwhelming praise get me into the show like I did Naruto and Bleach. By the time, One Piece was becoming more talked about that's around the time I said fuck Shonen Jump. So yeah, don't really care to watch it. Thanks a lot Naruto and Bleach.

Yeah, I know. It is a shame that shows like these overshadow the actual good ones.

Maybe OP seems fresh because it doesn't have one big bad villain or a big ass war that it is confined to. Albeit there is a revolutionary war against the world government but for now that is in the background.
OP's creator, Oda, supposedly wants to make it to 1000 episodes. I will be watching
OP for me has a better balance of drama and lightheartedness. It has a hidden darkness to it too.
Doesn't Howl look like the 4th hokage or David Bowie from Labyrinth?
Anyway here is a list of Winter anime with air dates.

I will love to see how they can create a live action Ichigo complete with massive sword.
Although the live action Death Note movie sounds more promising, especially since the director stood up to WB and is staying faithful to the source material (even more so than the Japanese movies did)

Re: Anime Discussion Thread
I actually forgot that the Death Note movies were getting remade for a US release. Yeah it's good that the director wants to stay with the source material, honestly there's no fucking point in live action anime remakes if you don't stick with the material.
