You know what I don't get? Tobi dude is trying to make his way somewhere, but can't he just travel through space and time?
I also agree, Oonoki has to go, you kill off 3rd, (Spoiler, don't read, Vic) and Asuma, and Jiraiya, but keep this old senile fool? Come on now, Masashi.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread
I'm currently playing/reading one of the greatest visual novels I've encountered so far: "Don't take it personally, babe, it just ain't your story" no sexual content as of yet, and the character you go actually go and check the website "12channel" daily, a image board that reminds surprisingly alot of 4chans /a/nime board
People interested in visual novels should definitely check it out

Re: Anime Discussion Thread
Just finished Tiger and Bunny. It isn't a mecha show like I'd expect from the pictures. Its more of a corrupt capitalist justice league. Some heroes have robotic suits like Iron Man and others have powers like ice and fire. The main character Wild Tiger has super strength for five minutes and his partner Barnaby (Bunny) is way younger but with the same power. Also Bunny's parents are dead like Batman's . All the heroes have sponsors' names on their costumes as if their a billboard. Lots of character development and plot twists.
Also finished Chuka Ichiban or Cooking Master Boy. 52 episodes of over exaggerating chinese cooking. Its AMAZING! It is an old chinese anime but I don't mind the old animation.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread
Darker than Black was a fun ride. Finally, you have a protagonist who isn't such a weak male character. He wasn't annoying nor did something out of character that pissed me off to no end. Plot sorta reminds me of X-Men, only less powerful, and does not that many cast of characters. I feel like the contractors and dolls were basically the mutants of this series. They have special abilities such as gravity manipulation, physic abilities, electrical abilities, ability to freeze liquids, etc. Most of the humans hated or feared them. Several characters felt that contractors above human in terms of evolution because of their abilities. A secret organization conspired to rid of contractors and dolls all together. All these things were very reminiscent of X-Men.
Onto the characters, the characters for the most part are pretty good and well written. The contractors have depth and personality, for the most part. The dolls are portrayed as such, which is supposed to be emotionless, but I like that considering that Rei Ayanami is one of my favorite characters in anime/manga. Although characters such as Havoc and Bai didn't get the development like they should have. They felt important characters but they didn't much to contribute to the story. My favorite characters would have to be Gai Kurusawa, Yin, and Havoc. Gai, who is voiced by Brandon Potter, is a funny ass character. Potter did the voice for Kenji Harima, who has to be one of the more funnier/original (in terms of design)characters to out of anime in a long time.
The animation is good for a 25 episode anime. The action flowed smoothly. The art design/direction is something I really like. If you really noticed the characters' eyes, they have this blank, emotionless look in their eyes. Usually in anime, the eyes are very shiny, something that was missing here.
I usually don't care about music in an anime but I have to say, the scenery/background music is very good. So good, in fact that the music outshines the opening and ending themes imo. One particular jazzy tune I love is in the one scene where the show begins November 11 and his crew killing a mob boss. It's episode 5, I believe.
There are two main complaints I have with the show. As I have stated some characters appear and as quickly as they appear, they'd disappear. You never really get to figure out what the character is really about. Some things are left unexplained. For example, the Heaven and Hell's Gate. Where they did come from? Why did they appear? Why was there a war at Heaven's Gate? What was the war for?
Overall though, I enjoyed watching this series. 8.5/10. I'm going check out the second season soon.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread
Watching Umineko no Naku Koro ni (When The Seagulls Cry) and yes, I believe it's made by the same people who made Higurashi, there is surely a lot of stuff I can relate to Higurashi, the art style for once, they also do the amazing things with the eyes and creepy elements (though not as creepy as Higurashi so far) but I'll continue to watch it, and if you are a fan of Higurashi then check out an episode or two.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread
I found the sequel to Darker than Black very interesting Omega Vik, think there's a 3rd one now too this season.
So, I've almost finished Evangelion, quit Hellsing after 5 eps. Anything else I should find an excuse to watch before watching Daethnote?
