Re: Anime Discussion Thread

Heh, I'm staying on the manga side with FMA at the moment and considering what I am hearing about this 'new' FMA so far. I'll probably stick to that side until I catch up on some chapters then I'll see the show. It wouldn't make a difference anyway.

EDIT: Looked a little back to find a link to notice how some active people in this thread are now gone. Guess it was bound to end up this way.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread

I'm a anime fan but the only anime shows I watch are Dragon Ball Z, Naruto and Yu Yu Hakashow.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread

So it just hit me like a ton of bricks that there's a new Haruhi season out and about! Yayyyy~!

Apparently what they're doing is running both the old first season episodes and the new second season ones in chronological order.
There's 28 episodes in total (old and new), and i like Haruhi too much to do the one week waiting game, especially when old episodes might be going for a few weeks at a time, so i'm thinking i might wait for them all to come out, stick 'em all in order and watch them in one fell swoop.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread

Apparently, my region just got the Funumation OnDemand channel, way to go Comcast!

...

But I got a gripe...

First off, Select on Demand had Y's, GTO, the Yu Yu Hakusho movie, and frickin' Slayers just to name a few anime, before Funimation started the transition. Now that Selects on Demand is gone, so are those anime. Not too happy about no more Slayers.

Now as for Funimation, they gave us some pretty good anime right off the bat. Black Blood Brothers, just to name one, is damn good so far. However, this new channel comes with a price. Some of the shows they have on, have the first episode as a preview, and the rest are 99 cents a pop. BAD. MOVE. FUNIMATION.

I know somebody is going to say "99 cents an episode isn't bad." Well it is when Anime network gives you a bulk of 4-5 episodes for $2.99, and give you the option of watching 2 episodes every two weeks to a month for free.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread

A much better episode this week than I imagined. Fast-moving and even some comedy. Some minor disappointments are how they didn't introduce Barry earlier on like in the previous anime and the lack of info on Greed's release. Would've helped tie the stories up better in the end.

Shame that Homunculus did not appear after the first episode.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread

Meh episode of FMA. I'm glad they didn't have the Brothers and Barry the Chopper fights go 2-3 episodes like the original series. I'm disappointed they didn't do the philosopher's stone attempted transmutation like they did in the original.

Overall, I'm just happy they sped past those episodes since they dragged and were boring (the fights).

I'm excited for whenever Kimbley gets out of jail. His rare appearances have been a treat.
