I watched the first episode of FMA Brotherhood as well. Safe to say that I loved it although I do think that the Lior beginning was a more appropriate start to the show. I marked for Homunculus' face in the very first episode and they told a well enough story there. Not really as hyped for the next episode because it's going to be the same as what we've seen with the flashback.
As long as there's a Triforce, there will be a Zelda;
as long as there's a prosperous kingdom, there will be an evil bent on destroying it;
and as long as there's an oppressive force threatening Hyrule, there will be a boy...
in a green tunic, silver shield, and magic blade to stand against it.
They are following the manga more closely. Otherwise, it would be fucked up that season 2 of FMA has all the dead people back (avoiding spoilers for people who haven't seen it....which is probably nobody in this thread, but still) and they haven't even gone to Lior yet.
So are these new episodes of FMA an actual sequel that will pick up directly where the movie left off or is this just FMA with the manga's storyline? If it is then I would have just prefered if they made a whole new original story that picked up right where the movie left off
I hated the movie as well. I'd rather not even bother thinking about it
The first series was full of win. I may be in the minority of loving Dante's character so much. The birth, life and death of the homunculi are also much better explained in the anime than in the manga and the story is simply much better but I'm willing to take a new direction in that side if they put together the overall plot that much better.
