The Walt Disney of Japan is always an excellent choice.

I haven't seen an anime show or movie that has touched me as much as My Neighbor Totoro or Spirited Away, except Grave of the Fireflies.

I'm broke too, but buying the novels isn't what the problem is for me.

It's getting them in order.

Fuckers sell out faster than Megatokyo comics, hard to get a particular volume so you don't spoil things ( usually I don't have a problem with spoiling manga, but it pisses me off when I buy a book mid story arc) I got 1, 2, 3, and 5. 4 was Agito's match against the Kintetsu Bulls, I WANT THAT VOLUME.

Totoro and Spirited away were good, but Nausica, Princess Mononoke, and Laputa: Castle in the Sky had a much bigger impact on me.

Speaking of Miyazaki, I actually had to do a art review assignment on a art exhibit for my class based on Miyazaki Totoro no Furosato project just recently.

Anyone seen a show called Reborn! (or Katekyō Hitman Reborn!)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reborn!

Looks interesting. I checked out the trailer on youtube and the art style reminds me of Bleach...but with gangsters...and not as lame.

Oi, don't twist my words. Porco Rosso was great, but it didn't impact like the three I mentioned, nor did the Tanuki film he did.

Hopefully, I'm hoping Gake no ue no Ponyo (Ponyo on a Cliff) is as good as Laputa. Heard it actually may be Miyazki's last film too. (Though, they said that about Howl's Moving Castle too.)

Even the title art on the Manga (from Wiki) looks like vintage Bleach-es art.

Weird, I haven't heard of it. I think that may be something that I will be checking out.

And Seph, don't hide it; we all know that you have a deep, secreted spot in your heart when it comes to Bleach.

Heard of it, but never looked further into it outside of the Shonen Jump Magazine.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread

I was really looking forward to The Five Killers but there haven't been any updates on it since last August. Not a good sign
