Sub=Headaches, and I forget everything at the end.
I only watch dubbed anime I have given Sub a fair chance and its just too hard for me I forget most of what happens by the end and I get a serious migrane (sp?)
Right now im watching the dubbed Angel Tales series.
Last thing I watched that was subbed was Black Blood Brothers.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread
I never watch dub unless the subs are nowhere to be found - which thankfully is quite rare these days unless it's some super-obscure oldie. I find that half the charm of anime is lost in the translation and the american accents especially on the names really bug me.
I really can't understand why they change the stress on names...names are supposed to sound the same in any language, no?

Re: Anime Discussion Thread
I watched the last dubbed episode of Death Note last night, and I forgot how intense that last episode was, what with Light getting pwned and all.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread
Speaking of Death Note is the live action movie worth viewing?

Re: Anime Discussion Thread
I only saw the first live action part, but yeah, the first one was pretty great, though it does change quite a bit from the anime.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread
The 2 Death Note movies are just one big film split into 2 parts!
It's good yea, it took me ages before i watched it, cos i liked the anime series so much i thought it'd be a total letdown.
The series has been changed for the films, mostly minor things and storylines, but there is only really 1 big change.
I enjoyed the films.
Now i'm dying to see the '3rd' movie, spin-off film "L: Change the World" which is just an L adventure film. It'll probably be rubbish but i'm still dying to see it anyway. I watched the trailer, and L was running, ahahah which was quite weird to see.

I've seen it and was keeping up with it every week last year when it was first out in Japan. It was definitely torture waiting a week or maybe more for a subbed version.
Oh and the movies suck. There's no point and it's always stupid to make a live action film from an anime.

Technically, Light didn't get owned...he had them beat until that idiot screwed up and didn't do what he was told to do.
The fact that i was mad that the "bad guy" was beat shows you how amazing the storytelling was in Death Note...
Yeah, the word is "intense". How many times can you guys remember Light and L going at it thinking what the other one would do and how he'd react to something until they figure it out, you think you now know who'll get the upper hand, and then the other pulls a swerve on him and leaves you speechless?
Seriously, i'd put Death Note's writing - especially up to L's departure - up there with Good LOST and 1st Season Prison Break

thing is, there wasn't a "bad" guy.
Light was killing people. Criminals yes, but killing nontheless, and he also got carried away from his devine punishment scheme into the whole "becoming God" thingy half way through. Also, he was the main protagonist.
L was out to stop him. Technically good, but he was out to get the main protagonist, hence "bad".
I think that was one of the biggest things Death Note had going.
The whole conflict where you didn't have the clear definition of who was good and who was bad like you do in so many other series.
