Re: Anime Discussion Thread

Anyone read Sgt.Frog? It is funny as hell man. I suggest checking it out. They also got episodes up on youtube. But the manga is so much better.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread

Azumanga Daioh Volume 4- **** 1/4

Maybe it had a lower rating then I expected...But I expected something more then what could ever be given. Some parts are slightly dry, but it makes up for it. I'd think that this is the more 'serious' of the four, but I am using the term as lightly as I possibly can. The graduation was what really made this worth picking up. I'm a senior as well and I could strongly relate to how Chiyo-chan is feeling about leaving high school and her worries. Sakaki FINALLY getting a cat of her own is something in its own. The Numbnuts getting into colleges was fun...Great all around.

P.S I teared up at the end.

Over all series, easily **** 3/4. A comedy classic and a manga that you can read over and over. That's rare, for me atlest.

And...

2 > 3 > 4 > 1.

Who cares?

I remember the golden years.

Code Geass: Lelouch Of The Rebellion is one of the best Anime I've seen in a while. The story is set at a period in time where 'Britannia' has invaded and taken over Japan, now referred to as 'Area 11'. The 'Elevens' are pretty much oppressed by the Britains and there are a few rebel factions trying to fight back.

A new leader in the form of a vengeful Prince Lelouch emerges after he obtains the power of Geass. With it, he finally has the power that he needs to defeat Britannia and starts a rebel faction of his own. He's quite similiar to Light from Death Note as he's quite manipulative and calculates his opponent's every move.

I highly recommend it. KS posted the links for it here if you're interested.

They just started playing that on Adult Swim recently and I thought it looked pretty good (for a meccha) and I've been wanting to check it out. Thanks for the link Rez

Re: Anime Discussion Thread

Mecha anime is the best! They just stated showing it on AS. I have already watched the entire show in fan subs though. They just stated premiering the sequel in Japan, R2.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread

Bleach far outshines any other Anime or even TV show out there man i just wish it was eaier to get a hold of the episodes

98% of WWE watchers think that they're huge ECW fans after seeing 'Rise+Fall' and a few ECW PPVs, they also think that the real ECW is coming back. If you're one of the 2% who thinks the real ECW died in 2001 and can see through the bullshit and understand that this new ECW will just be Vince, his fat wallet and a few has-beens wanting some more cash, copy and paste this into your sig.

Re: Anime Discussion Thread

Bleach was terrific up to the first 3 arcs (Soul Society arcs)

From there on it got kinda 'meh' with the occasional good fight and funny bits.
Especially towards the middle of the HM arc it got SO SLOW with 15 mins of episode (half of which would probably be repetition) after 10 mins of recaps.
I'm actually happy they're doing a filler now because it gives a chance for more Bleach RANDOM~! humour.
Seriously, last ep was the most fun i've had watching Bleach in a long time (not counting Ichigo/Grimmjow from near the end of HM)
Just random laughs all over the place, with Ichigo going Bankai on a bunch of lowly hollows just because he can, Kon and Ichigo's dad being Kon and Ichigo's dad, bad drawings by Orihima and Rukia and all the other running gags.
Best bit was Ichigo getting pretty much blown off by a guy just for not being important enough and Ichigo going:
"Who does he think he is, Byakuya?"

A friend of mine had me watch "The girl who leapt through time" a couple of days ago.
She loves it, and i found it quite a bit funny and entertaining, if a bit too sweet and romantic for something to watch on your own.
Perfect if you wanna watch an anime with a girl though!

I'm around ep. 44 of Monster. It's really getting good now, but i just don't have time to watch things these day...
