I don't Read, Help me

I'm 25 years old in a few months, and I've never read a book for enjoyment or pleasure, the last book I read was "Of Mice & Men" and that was for a GCSE English paper.

I like horror/action/war movies, and enjoy getting lost in the story's, but why cant I enjoy a book like that?

Does anyone out there have any ideas what kind of books I should start with?
I feel as if I've missed out on a ton not reading.

If you are looking for an easy read that is light and not too deep but can entertain I would suggest A Night in the Lonesome October by Roger Zelazny.

Re: I don't Read, Help me

If you struggle reading but enjoy war movies, try readin non-fiction rather than fiction. There are tons of factual books with incredible true-life stories that may work more for you than fiction - war stories, crime, autobiographies, historical accounts, there's all-sorts really. Generally a lot of my friends who weren't big readers seem to enjoy non-fiction as a rule, maybe you will I dunno.

If you like watching WW2 type of movies, but enjoy a nice twist, I suggest checking out the Destroyermen series by Taylor Anderson. The depictions of naval and land combat are done really well, and the characters are nicely fleshed out and easy to be interested in. This is easily one of my favorite series going right now. And it fits in with all three: horror, action and war.

I wouldn't worry about it, some people just love reading, some don't, I've only read a handful of books in my life, you just haven't found the right one yet
