The Fantastic Four reboot

So up to now all I've been hearing is nothing but bad thing about the upcoming reboot and let me tell you...WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK!?

I was bored so decided to read up on some information about it, and now I get the fuss. The cast is SOOOO wrong, and young at that! The supposed synopsis is that they find themselves in another dimension after lab experiments go wrong and get their powers there and whatnot. Apparently a sequel is in the talks for 2017 as well. Which mean it's less likely Marvel get the rights back in time for Infinity War.

Granted the first set of movies weren't all that great but, COME ON!

Feels like Fox is just trying to cash in on the Marvel super hero hype train. Sure I haven't seen a trailer or much for that fact but as of now my hopes for this are little to none. Rating it 1/10 for now.

Are hopes gone for Marvel to obtain the right before Infinity War with a rumored sequel!? Sad. Marvel needs to stop them from releasing this crap by paying them off and some, and start introducing FF characters throughout phase 3 (would fit perfectly in Civil War and Black Panther)...one can dream...

Movie sounds like shite, to be honest.

Re: Fantastic Four reboot (2015)

I actually liked the original FF movies more than most, even though there was a lot for improvement, but this? Gonna sink them down fast.

When you cast a POC to portray Johnny Storm then you know shit is about to go down fast in a bad way.

Would have been much better to have them appear firstly in Black Panther and then start thinking about fucking sequel.

Sad, cause the FF has amazing potential for both heroes and villains, plus most of their adversaries are based in the Cosmos, so BAM! instant connection to that.

Hey, can anyone help me? I'm missing a whole box of brass rings. #NXTTakeOver @WWENXT - Triple H

Re: Fantastic Four reboot (2015)

I can give or take the rest of the cast, but Michael B Jordan as Johnny Storm is damn good casting. And Chronicle was a very well done movie. So while I'm very hesitant, I'm still anxious to see how this ends up. It could really surprise people, or it could be a steaming pile of shit.

Though I find them pretty boring to begin with. So whatever.

I will probably see it but I know it is going to be just terrible. I actually didn't mind the first 2 Fantastic Four movies.

Re: Fantastic Four reboot (2015)

It's gonna be terrible. Have they released any pictures of anybody in costume, it's done filming right? I heard the budget is really low so it's obvious they did it so Marvel wouldn't get the rights back, just not sure why. No way this movie will make them any money.

Re: Fantastic Four reboot (2015)

Jordan's an awesome young actor so I think he'll do well as Johnny, honestly he's the best casting of the bunch ironically. The fact that every single other character seems to be pretty badly miscast has me worried though about the Johnny Storm casting as well. Sue most likely being adopted is a weird choice though but whatever it doesn't really affect the story and adds diversity.

Probably the first CBM that I genuinely hope turns out terrible so the rights can revert, not a huge fan of sequels being announced prior to the first installments release either. Bit of a hypocrite on that though as I loved GOTG getting the sequel ahead of time as it seemed awesome from the first trailer.

The fact that they avoided any notable actors casting wise really seems to suggest they're being a bit cheap with this one.

Marking out for:
-Orton, Ziggler, Christian, Punk
-MCMG, Kenny Omega
-CFC - Drogba, Zola, Gudjohnsen, Mata :'(
-Condit, Lytle, Serra, Hendo
-The Wire, Game of Thrones, Arrow, Parks & Rec,
-NYG - Eli, Strahan

On the Bandwagon of:
-Evolution, Ambrose, Rollins
-Weidman, Shad, Mendes, Chandler
-Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Brooklyn 9 9, Suits
-Fury, Froch, GGG, Frampton, Algieri
-LAC - CP3, Griffin

Re: Fantastic Four reboot (2015)

I'm a huge Marvel fan and even I am starting to care less and less about superhero movies. This was reportedly made to prevent the Fantastic Four rights from reverting to Disney from Sony and the plot is almost insulting to someone who grew up reading the comics and watching the old cartoon series.

The war between Sony and Disney regarding the franchise is somewhat comical as well. Sony is making the movie just to spite Disney and Disney is in turn discontinuing the comic series in order to decrease awareness of the film. It's pretty childish and underhanded on both parts and seems like the movie equivalent to the DMC remake a year or two ago.

Rebooting is fine but don't kill the underlaying premise and origin of the characters to the point its unrecognizable. Johnny being younger and a bit of a hotshot is why he worked so well with Ben Grimm in the comics. They were polar opposites and at the time them not gelling perfectly was innovative and creative in the comic world. The whole dynamic made for some comical moments. Looking at the cast it seems like they decided to try and make it hip by casting a bunch of twenty somethings(baby faced and probably younger on film than in actuality as well) and having them act like high school kids. Half of the Fantastic Four villains were cosmic and this would mean the majority of their origins will be needlessly butchered as well. I'll probably just avoid watching it and only see it if some friends drag me. It can't be much worse than TMNT.

Well to be fair the f4 hasn't been a top selling book for sometime.

Nothing that's been leaked has inspired me with much confidence. I am willing to give Trank a chance, what he did with Chronicle was incredible.

Still scratching my head as to why they cast Billy Elliot as Ben Grimm.
