Best acting performance on TV?
I'll start with David Suchet as Poirot. I'm convinced his Poirot exists independent of the actor. He diligently studied the character to create a lonely, narcissistic, idiosyncratic, genius. He puts Peter Ustinov and company to shame (I love Alfred Molina but his interpretation was.. jaja). If I were an actor playing opposite him, I'd shit myself out of reverence. Ben Kingsley, Bob Hoskins... no British actor of his generation could have left such an indelible mark as this character. Never in her wildest dreams would Agatha Christie have imagined such a thespic talent would bring to flesh her star sleuth. No amount of praise could do this man justice. David Suchet is quiet simply an acting giant, even when based solely on his performances of this character.
