Re: Marvel gearing up for Inhumans movie

Oh wow, my brain got ahead of me there. I saw Inhuman and thought "INHUANOIDS!"

You know, this?

Which if they ever made an Inhumanoids movie. If they ever put D'Compose, Metlar, Tendrill, Slither, and Gagoyle in a movie, and it was good, I'd be like:

But instead it is The Inhumans. I guess that'll be fine. It isn't one of my favorite properties, but Marvel is on a bit of a roll right now, so I am willing to trust them based on that alone.

Ha that Thanos pic is great! Reminds me of this:

Yeah I heard that. I wouldn't like him as Doc Strange at all, but if he were cast in that movie, I'd rather it be as Baron Mordo.

If I had another choice for Max, I'd choose Ben Foster, because he's great at playing psychos.

Spoiler for Royal Family:

Spoiler for King Blackbolt:
King Blackbolt - Vin Diesel (this WILL happen because it's been teased constantly and nearly confirmed by Marvel, but I will say that Vin has the presence and some of the best body language in the business to pull this off, and it helps that his biggest weakness {line delivery} is taken out of the equation here)

For the rest of the family, here's who I propose:

Spoiler for Queen Medusa:
Queen Medusa - Jessica Chastain (Jessica is a captivating Oscar winning actress who could bring to life the complex and very tightly strung Queen of the Royal Family) ~ I Would also be find with Emily Blunt or Christina Hendricks for the same reasons

Spoiler for Karnak:
Karnak - Jackie Earle Haley (Jackie is a brilliant that unfortunately never gets big roles, but this could be a nice return to fame for him as Karnak)

Spoiler for Gorgon:
Gorgon - Kevin Durand (fantastic yet very underrated actor, and could make Gorgon his own)

Spoiler for Titon:
Triton - Luke Goss (quite underrated as an actor and would be up to the task to play the martial arts influenced aqua inhuman)

Spoiler for Crystal:
Crystal - Rachel Hurd-Wood (has the perfect bubbly personality for the curious and aloof Crystal)

Spoiler for Maximus the Mad:
Maximus the Mad - Joaquin Phoenix (Self-explanatory)

Thoughts?
Not bad. Not bad at all. I wouldn't have thought of Jessica Chastain for Medusa, but she can definitely pull off the will Medusa has. Really like Kevin Durand as Gorgon. If Phoenix ends up as Doctor Strange maybe Hugh Dancy for Maximus. His work on Hannibal makes me think he could pull it off.

I was thinking about something though. Will Marvel think Maximus is too similar to Loki? Both brothers of "alien" royalty that want the crown. Though the dynamic is a little different. MCU Loki wanted to be his Father's favorite where as Maximus just wants the throne.

If you teach me to shoot, I'll teach you to regret teaching me to shoot.

Hugh Dancy is a very inspired choice, I like it a lot. The only issue it presents is similar to your second paragraph. I think Dancy would play Max similar to how Hiddleston plays Loki, and then the parallels would ring true. That's why an actor like Phoenix or someone like Benedict Cumberbatch would fit this better. Maximus needs to be a bigger presence than Loki is stature, and look more capable.

I don't know what the hell this is but I trust Marvel Studios and how they present these characters. Just like with Guardians of the Galaxy which I ended up loving, I will certainly be in the theater to see Inhumans.

Think a cosmic version of Game of Thrones and you're in the right ballpark.
