Re: FX's The Strain

Confirmed. The Strain > The Follwoing. After three episodes they've established everything well without ever feeling rushed or stagnant. Shit is about to go down soon and it's going to be level 11.

Best scene was the Nazi vampire taunting ABE and then ABE throwing it back in his face. Can't wait for these two to sqaure off...again.

I love this show. The scene where Bolivar was pissing, then "PLOP" made me yell audibly. I also fear for the German Shepherd's safety.

Finished watching the first three episodes. I can confirm that The Strain > The Following. One of the best shows on TV right now. I'm down to see the rest of the season because sh*t looks like it's about to go down. Hospital scene where the bodies come to life will give me nightmares!

Re: FX's The Strain

This show really reminds of Stephen King's writing. There's a definite The Stand vibe going on here as we meet our heroes, some not even aware of the existence of the others, while the bad guys plot in the background, the rest of the world completely oblivious.

Also is this the first time Kevin Durand has played a hero? I mean I'm assuming the EXTERMINATOR will be one of the heroes. He loves cats, is good with children, and kills vermin.

Re: FX's The Strain

I am definitely digging this show. I could do without the dopey family divorce side plot bullshit though. That is my only complaint.

Re: FX's The Strain

It's just character development for Eph and his son. I'm not a fan of it either, but you have to establish normal before everything goes pear shaped.

The good thing is once the vampires strike, we'll never have to deal with the divorce crap again
