Re: The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Just saw it and thought the villains were awesome. The pacing of the movie is my biggest issue with it, otherwise I thought it was pretty good. The ending was awesome.

Got my ticket for an IMAX 3D viewing in 15 minutes.

I bought a large drink so I can get free refills. Useless, I NEVER get up during a movie.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Pretty good. I went in expecting a lot of special effects fights, no noteworthy acting (after all, who needs to act?) and a cheesy I-Do-I-Don't romance angle.

What I got was a lot of special effects fights, excellent acting by Jamie Foxx who stole the show in the initial scenes when he was himself (and even his electro form was good) and a cheesy I-Do-I-Don't romance angle with a twist at the end that I didn't expect.

As we say in my country, paisa vasool (good value for my money).

THE DESTRUCTION OF TRIPURA - THE THREE CITIES OF MAYA
"--The Year became his bow; Kaala Raathri the Death-Night which is Rudra's shadow, became the indestructible bowstring of that bow. Vishnu, Agni and Soma became the arrow. The universe is said to consist of Agni and Soma. The universe is similarly said to consist of Vishnu. Vishnu is, again, the Soul of the holy Bhava (Rudra) of immeasurable energy. And due to this the touch of that bow-string became unbearable to the Asuras. Sankara cast on that arrow his own irresistible fire of anger, that which was born of wrath of Bhrigu and Angirasa. Thus he is called Nila Rohita (Blue-Red). And that terrible deity, Rudra, robed in skins, looking like 10,000 Suns, and shrouded by the fire of superabundant energy, blazed up with splendour--".

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man 2

I enjoyed, it really picked up in the end. I agree that Jamie as Electro was the best part. I don't think I laughed one time though, Spiderman really wasn't funny imo.

Spoiler for :
I knew it was coming but the death at the end was still powerful. I kinda marked when Harry flew in after the Electro fight, overall was a great scene. Did everyone keep thinking Dr Manhattan whenever Electro was on screen after Harry helped him escape?

I kept thinking, thank god no more blue dong

Also, mid credits scene confused me, not sure how that can fit in to the movie it's supposed to be hyping, feels like it's for another movie.

I was also confused by that scene too. Was pretty good though, got me more hyped.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man 2

This movie was actually pretty fucking good, which is refreshing considering all the negativity floating around it.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Just saw this. Probably would have liked it more if I hadn't been watching the vastly superior Capt America: Winter Soldier 3 out of the last 4 weekends. It was alright for a popcorn flick, pacing seemed weird at points, still think Garfield is a better Spidey than Tobey McPersonalityofWood, Emma was good in her role, Dane DeHaan is fucking creepy and I thought he was the best part of this but I kept laughing at his hair. Jaime Foxx didn't annoy me as much as usual but I only really liked him in maybe two scenes. And yes I kept getting Dr. Manhattan flashbacks during the Electro scenes.

6/10 or so. Not bad but not rushing to see it again. Was better than TAS1 but not by a lot.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man 2

I think I might've preferred the first one were it not for Lizard's whole plan being asinine. Guess he's a Lizard and doesn't think much?

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man 2

First one to me really lost steam once The Lizard came into play. Was liking it before then.
