Re: True Detective

Watched the pilot and it was gooood.

Never liked Matthew McConaughey, because I was always dragged into his chickflicks, but damn, great acting in this one. I will now give his past non-chickflick movies a chance.

Re: True Detective

what gets me is how these 2 guys in 2012 are so fucked up compared to 1995. matt being an alcoholic even tho back then he wasnt drinking and woody popping pills. i wanna see how this case fucks them up.

Re: True Detective

Watched it earlier today, really liked it. I usually can't stand McConaughey but I'm a huge Woody Harrelson fan so I was willing to give it a shot and I was glad I did. McConaughey is tolerable and Harrelson more than makes up for it.

Re: True Detective

It seems that a lot of people have missed the new improved McConaughey. He's been fantastic in everything he's done recently. Even in his small cameo in Wolf of Wall Street.

Seriously people - he's completely transformed.

Absolutely fantastic in Wolf of Wall Street and the Dallas Buyer's Club. Not sure why so many people dismiss Mcconaghey when he's amazing in pretty much anything with a half-decent script.

Plus, let's not forget this..

That's what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age.

I watched this last night. Really strong pilot. I was sold the minute I knew Harrelson was involved. McConaughey continued his resurgence and I actually thought that he stole the show. Great concept, great execution. I'm hooked.
