Hell yeah. That score. That mask. Those amazing camera shots. Halloween is horror as art, nuff said.

Re: Is "Halloween" Still Scary 35 Years Later?

The final scene is scarier than pretty much anything else in movie history simply because of what is implied. Myers is a symbol and a lot of people seem to not realise that. Horror is definitely about more than jump scares and gore and Halloween succeeds on every single level. It's a masterpiece of the genre, absolutely no question about it.

Are you talking about the the shots of the houses as the creepiest theme ever plays? Yeah, that shit is the shit.

I went to youtube to watch the final scene, and what I got ended right after Loomis confirms that Myers is indeed the boogeyman. The whole impact of that scene was obviously lost on whoever uploaded that.

Ha. Yeah, but it's not just the theme, it's the breathing as well. Fucking bone chilling.

Of course. I love the movie, I love the franchise. I'd much rather watch it then some 90 minute movie where people get their limbs hacked off every 30 seconds.

It's not the movie for today's instant gratification generation. It relies on suspense and build rather than sheer shock value.

Fantastic movie, great series.

I hope on Halloween this guy breaks his collarbone doing a keg stand.

How anyone can not see how great just this scene alone is, is beyond me.
