Vortex opens with a flash back from earlier in the week of Brittany Page's Press conference.
The scene opens as the press room at PWC headquaters is filled with sporting journalists all sitting in front of a podium with the PWC logo emblazoned on it. Behind the podium we see a big screen with another PWC logo flashing on it. The buzz in the room and the whirl of cameras is quickly quietened when Danny Eriksen walks out to greet the crowd. Eriksen strides to the podium, smiling at the eager audience on his way there and slightly adjusts the mic to his level before addressing the large contingent.
Dany Eriksen: Hello everybody, I’m Danny Eriksen and we are here this morning at PWC Headquarters to announce what’s coming up in PWC, the premiere wrestling company in the world. Please welcome to the podium, our interim PWC General Manager, Ms Brittany Page.
Brittany Page saunters into the room holding a long wooden box on her arm. The male journalists can’t keep their eyes off the stunning Ms. Page as she walks past them and onto the stage. She licks her lips before giving the box to Eriksen who acts as an easel, displaying whatever is inside.
Ms. Page: Thank you Danny and thank you ladies and gentleman for coming. As our esteemed chairman Ernesto Clement continues to take a leave of absence, I wish to continue to grow PWC from strength to strength. I’m here to take Mr Clement’s ideas and improve on them to give the world an even better more thrilling sporting league each and every time someone watches Vortex or one of our pay per view extravaganzas.
The rooms fills with murmurs and excited whispers as Brittany Page gestures towards Danny Eriksen.
Ms. Page: This here is the Prometheus Torch.
Dany pulls off the top of the box and opens the sides to reveal the PWC Prometheus Torch to the press gallery. A huge graphic plays behind them with the Prometheus Torch on the big screen. We see still shots of the previous match to determine the winner with Barney Williams eventually winning the prize at the biggest event in PWC history, Last Rites.
Ms. Page: This item was such an innovative inclusion to the mythos of PWC, but like I said, I’m here to not sit on our laurels, I’m here to turn the volume up to eleven. So starting this week on Vortex we shall have a tournament to win this prestigious item. Pretty standard you say. Another tournament. Well, let’s just say it will be not just any tournament. No, the rules of the tournament will be revealed on Vortex. But what I’m going to reveal tonight is what power the holder of the Torch will now possess.
Page removes her glasses. She looks out to the crowd and then walks over to Eriksen and grabs the Torch running her hands up and down its handle...
Ms. Page: You see, the winner of the Torch will be able get a title shot... against any of PWC title he or she chooses!
The press gallery collectively gasps and a buzz again rises from them. Page now needs to speak a little louder.
Ms. Page: But there is a catch. If the Torch holder wishes to choose the World Championship then the time and place will be of my choosing. However if the Torch holder chooses the Legacy Championship or the Television Championship, then they can do so whenever they please. As in immediately after the Champion has defended their title!
The journalists are completely animated now. They can’t wait to start asking questions, but Page isn't finished.
Ms. Page: The participants of this match will include some of the finest wrestlers the world has to offer. PWC is ever evolving, always taking our game to another level so we searched far and wide to find some of the best wrestlers and fighters in the world and bring them to our great audience here in PWC. All these new stars will get a chance to make history with the Prometheus Torch, of course they'll have to face some of the best PWC already has at our disposal to win this great prize.
We see still shots of some of the new stars Page mentioned on the big screen with the names underneath, The Angel of Fear, Leo Masters, Shio Corin, Hugh Reynolds and some PWC favorites like Aaron Kendrick and Flexx Palumbo.
Ms. Page: Oh and one last thing. The flame in the Torch has a lifespan. If the Torch holder does not challenge for a title within 6 weeks they will have to defend the torch against a worthy opponent. Wins and losses count. This is PWC. Good luck to all the participants. Thank you.
Page walks off with the press gallery exploding with questions and flashing cameras, all shouting over the top of each other trying to get more information. Eriksen tries to calm everyone down, while the exultant Page walks out of the room.
Vortex's theme music brings the excited fans in Portland to their feet as we head towards the announce desk with Stan Chambers and Charlie Campbell welcoming us to Vortex.
Chambers: Welcome everyone to PWC Vortex. I’m Stan Chambers and to my left is my broadcast colleague Charlie “CC” Campbell. We are only 2 weeks away from our next PPV Hell's Judgment and tonight there is so much going on I don’t really know where to start!
Campbell: Stan we are sold out here in Portland and it’s so loud in this building I don’t really know where to start either, but we have to start somewhere, and why not the blockbuster announcement that we will see the return of Prometheus Torch.
Chambers: Yes! Well in case you missed it viewers on social media and on the PWC website our acting GM, Brittany Page announced that due to Barney Williams igniting the Torch to get a Legacy title match, it’s now once more up for grabs. Starting tonight we’ve got our first round qualifiers and we'll also be introducing some brand new faces!
Campbell: I’m really excited. Ms Page has done it again with not only giving us some big time fights but we also get to see several debuts right here tonight – all fighting for what could possibly be a World title shot.
Chambers: That’s right, CC. The Prometheus Torch can be ignited for any title now due to Ms Page’s major change. It’s a really exciting time here in PWC, especially since we could see a new comer come out of nowhere and win any one of our prestigious titles.
Campbell: And Stan, what about our Main event!?! I have no idea what Ms Page was shooting for here, but she has put the former World Champion The Donjitshu Master, Donald Hammerpunch in a tag team match with the current reigning Champion Crowley!!! These two men are going to go to war as at Hell's Judgment in 2 weeks time. But can they can co-exist tonight.
Chambers: It’s going to be fireworks I’m sure. The team going against them has a big opportunity here tonight as well. Not unlike the Prometheus torch matches, if Austin Angel or Legacy Champion Shadow score a pinfall over one of their opponents here tonight, they could very well be next in line for a title shot.
Campbell: That’s right Stan. If either of these fighters pin the #1 contender or the Champion himself. He’s gotta be in contention surely? Tonight is setting the stage for some big changes here in PWC. Let’s go to ringside!!!
Chambers: The Prometheus Torch tournament is about to begin, CC. We’ve got new fighters and I’m really excited to see what they bring to the table. Right now let’s meet one of our newest stars... Leo Masters!
We fade to black for a moment before a huge ROAAAAARRRRRR engulfs the crowd!!!! A huge man with his shirt off is seen in an old gym pushing giant tyres around...
***My name is Leo Masters, and I’m here not for the fame.***
The word “fame” has quick cuts of guys like Dr Nero parading around. Masters is all sweaty as he runs down the streets of Brooklyn (quick shots of street signs are shown) and people waving to him.
***Not for the glory***
The word “glory” has quick cuts of guys like Austin Angel standing on turnbuckles and Kyle Elric holding up a title belt. Cut to Masters throwing a huge kick to a heavy bag and then displaying different types of suplexes and showing off his power.
*** Not because I like hurting people***
The word “hurt” is cut with guys like Crowley and Jacobs and El Cara driving their elbows or big boots into their opponents. Cut to Masters sparring with his training partners and then hugging them or high fiving them for their help.
***Nah man, I’m here to make a difference***
Masters is shown in street clothes helping a homeless man, giving him a blanket and getting him on his feet. (More street sign shots – the Brooklyn Bridge in the background) We cut to Masters lifting super heavy weights on his bench.
***I’m here to set an example. To show everyone what you can do if you work hard. Stand tall. And be a lion.***
Masters is shown in his street clothes standing on a street corner looking around his neighbourhood with his friends and community around him.
***GRRRRRAAAAAAHHH!!*** Masters squats an enormous amount of weight before dropping it to the floor behind him.
***My name is Leo Masters. And I’m the King of this Concrete Jungle. And I’ll fight to protect it. I’ll fight so we can all stand tall. We can all be lions....***

Campbell: Wow! I can’t wait to see Leo Masters in action. This tournament is a huge opportunity for everyone involved. Let’s see who’s going to step up and...
The arena lights go out and the crowd is buzzing. The fans are excited to see new combatants in PWC.
***Creepy Music Box***
A spotlight lights up different sections of the crowd. The fans near those lights cheer until the light disappears in another section of the arena. After four spotlights in the audience, the fifth lights up near the edge of the barricade! A huge figure is standing in the spotlight, all in black with a black vest, black jeans, black boots and face hidden by a black hoodie. The spotlight disappears putting the arena in complete darkness again until all the lights come back on and the latest acquisition to PWC is standing in the ring.
Chambers: Man that was intense, ladies and gentlemen, this is the Angel of Fear!
Campbell: Angel of Fear?! He’s already got me on edge, Stan. This guy gives me the creeps... oh my gawd!
The beautiful Emma Mason dressed in a purple gown is in the ring smiling and waiting to introduce the next match. She gives the newcomer a sideways glare with the smile disappearing from her face. The PWC color commentator jumps in his chair as the Angel of Fear removes his hood to reveal an almost inhumanly pale grimacing face. He looks to not have one single hair on his body as he removes his hoodie and throws it over the ropes to the floor.
Campbell: What has Ms Page brought to PWC? This guy is frightening.
Mason: This bout is scheduled for one fall and is a Prometheus Torch match. Introducing first, standing 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing in at 240 pounds – hailing from “The Unreachable” – The Angel of Fear!!!
The fans have no idea what to make of this guy. Do they cheer him, are they afraid of him??
***Is she with you?***
The crowd’s attention now turns to the entrance ramp!
Mason: And his opponent. From Brooklyn New York! Standing six foot three and weighing 250 pounds – Leo Masters!!!
The fans seem to be into this guy. The powerhouse of a man storms down the ramp seemingly absorbing all the energy form the fans. Straight away the fans gravitate towards this man and hold out their hands for high fives.
Campbell: Well will you look at this specimen!
Chambers: He’s a blue chipper all right CC! A thoroughbred no doubt about it.
Campbell: His traps are bigger than my legs.
Masters runs into the ring and roars as the referee gets in between the men. Masters is ready to go, but the look on the Angel of Fear's face hasn’t changed.
Campbell: If I didn’t see him move before taking off his hood off, you could swear this Angel of Fear is a statue. Who knows how this match is going to go. Both guys are huge.
Chambers: It’s going to be a big old hoss fight to kick off the Prometheus Torch tournament tonight on Vortex folks.
The referee, Gwen Jeffers checks that both men are ready and rings the bell.
Match 1
Promtheus Torch Tournament – Round 1 match
The Angel of Fear vs Leo Masters
***Ding! Ding! Ding!***
Masters looks for an opening and steps in and the two men lock up. The Angel of Fear with the slight height advantage turns the hold into a side headlock. Masters though pushes him off and sends him into the ropes. The pale rider rebounds off the ropes with a big shoulder charge and the two men connect.
Chambers: The irresistible force meets the immovable object, CC! What a collision and both men are still on their feet!
Masters nods his head to say “bring it on” while the taller and silent creature stares him down. Masters tells him to try it again! Angel of Fear looks to run the ropes but instead stops short and hits a short armed clothesline! Masters goes down from the heavy shot.
Methodically, the Angel of Fear looks to pick up Masters from the mat and looks for a belly to belly suplex. But Masters lowers his centre of gravity and boxes the ears to escape the hold. Masters quickly boots Angel in the solarplexes and hits a huge underhook suplex of his own!
In a spectacular show of strength the Angel is lifted off his feet and he comes crashing down on his lower back. The emotionless white face finally shows some sign that he is human with a wince. Leo winds up and looks for a big discus lariat!
But the Angel counters with a big spinning heel kick!!! Masters is blasted in the side of his head and he goes down again. The Angel of Fear grabs Leo now and hits the Anguish – a spike piledriver! He makes the cover...

NO!!! Masters kicks out!
The Angel of Fear is not pleased and he pulls Masters to his feet. He moves his thumb across his throat signalling for the end, but Masters with all he’s got pumps his legs and drives his shoulder into the gut of his opponent! The Pale Nightmeare, AOF rains down some big blows onto the back of Masters, but the big man uses his power and drives the him into the corner! AOF again lashes out with some shots to the back, but Masters again drives the shoulder into the gut. Masters stands up and roars in his face and then unloads with some heavy stiff forearm shots to the head.
The Angel has no choice to cover up as the power of the shots would destroy any man's face. Masters roars again and then in another show of amazing strength picks up the six foot five inch monster and holds him in the air in a military press position and then slams the man down into a spinebuster!!!!
The Angel’s back bows up from the impact as he screams out in pain!! Cover!!!

NO!!! – AOF gets the shoulder up at the last moment!
The fans can’t believe it, but Leo is focused so he grabs the Angel of Fear and looks for a vertical suplex lifting him high in the air... but the Angel of Fear on the way up rakes the eyes!!! The crowd boos as Leo let’s go of the hold and the Angel comes crashing down on top of him!
The Angel of Fear climbs the closest turnbuckle and the hurt and partly blinded Leo Masters walks straight into a top rope dropkick! Masters tries to get to his feet, but the Angel of Fear quickly grabs Masters by the head and hits Paranoia, his version of the Sister Abigail, spinning Masters around and planting him into the canvas! Masters’ face is driven into the mat with a high revolution as the crowd watch on in total disbelief as the man they had favoured early is put down!

Winner: The Angel of Fear
The fans boo as the pale demon has his arm raised in victory. The creature looks down on Masters who is clutching at his face. The Angel of Fear pulls his arm away from Gwen Jeffers and intimidates her as she scurries away before soaking up the crowds jeers. He rolls out of the ring and grabs his long cloak. The arena suddenly goes dark and when the lights come back on, the winner of the match has disappears...
Chambers: Looks like he leaves the way he enters CC...
Campbell: That guy is a very scary individual. I thought Crowley was a horror show. Big ups to Leo masters though. That was a great fight between two big men. Masters will learn from that and live to fight another day.
Chambers: Oh he will CC, but for now he’s out of the tournament to win the Prometheus Torch, while the Angel of Fear moves on to the semi-finals.
***CUT TO COMMERCIAL***
We return to the announce desk where Stan Chambers addresses the PWC audience.
Chambers: Welcome back PWC fans. We know a lot of you have heard some rumors regarding an explosive situation between Bruce Thorn and the former World Champion, Dr. Nero.
Campbell: Well, it’s been all over the internet this past week and earlier today that situation came to a head.
Chambers: Yes, we were there to witness some of what can only be described an absolute wild scene earlier today before Vortex even begun.
Campbell: I’ve never seen anything like it, Stan. These two men absolutely despise each other and I do not envy Brittany Page trying to somehow manage this situation.
Chambers: Both Dr. Nero and Bruce Thorn Jr. were ordered out of the arena tonight by Ms. Page and will not be here live on this week’s episode of Vortex. We’ll be taking you through some of the events leading up to their altercation and the….
Campbell: The Fight…because that’s what it was.
Chambers:....from earlier tonight throughout the broadcast.
We cut to a scene with a caption saying “Earlier this week” with Dany Eriksen in the PWC Headquarters TV studios doing his weekly roundup of news on PWC’s online platforms. Dany faces the camera and addresses the audience. A picture of Bruce Thorn is shown at the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
Eriksen: On the line now we have Bruce Thorn who requested an interview with us. Bruce, we saw what happened…
Bruce Thorn’s voice cuts Dany off as we hear the former PWC TV Champion on the line.
Thorn: With all due respect Dany, I didn’t request this interview time to answer any of your questions, I requested this interview time to address the man, at least that’s what he pretends to be, who attacked my Uncle and I during my TV title match last week.
Eriksen: Well the floor is yours, sir.
Thorn: I got a call from Brittany Page’s office telling me about the match I have coming up on the next episode of Vortex. Now usually I’m not the one who gets calls about these things, that’s usually my uncle and manager Tommy but he can’t do that right now because Nero kicked him so hard in the head that he has to spend the next few days in a hospital bed recovering from a concussion.
I realize the dangers my uncle faces accompanying me to the ring, we’ve known about those things and faced up to them for years. This isn’t about that. This isn’t even about Nero costing me my chance at getting back the championship I love, the title that I helped establish last week, no this about respect. This is about Nero not respecting me, not respecting everything I’ve sacrificed to be here. This about Nero spitting on all my accomplishments and thinking I’m not on his level.
There’s a moment of dead air as Danny almost cuts back in before Thorn continues on.
Thorn: He’s right, I’m not on his level, I’m better than he is or ever was. So when Ms. Page wanted to put me in another match on the next Vortex, I told her no. The only man I want a match with is Nero. And I’m not waiting for a PPV, I want that match at the next Vortex. So Nero if you think you’re so much better than I am, prove it next week on Vortex.
Eriksen: So you’re challenging Nero to a match next week?
Thorn: I’m not just challenging him, Danny. I’m calling his ass out. I’m saying I’m better than he is. I’m saying he’s the one not on my level. I’m saying that one way or the other I’m going to beat the respect out of him!
The call cuts out as Danny Eriksen raises his eyebrows and the scene fades out.
Back at ringside Emma Mason is ready to introduce the next match.
Mason: The next match is scheduled for one fall and is a first round match in the Prometheus Torch tournament.
***Jesus Glue***
The fans have started warming up to “The Most Alpha Male Around” as the enormous Flexx Palumbo makes his way out trying to super charge the crowd. We get a few "Palumbo" chant but a fair few sprinkling of jeers as well.
Mason: Introducing first, from Strong Island, New York, he stands six foot one and weighs in at 200 pounds... he is Flexx Palumbo!
Flexx stands in the ring and flexes those biceps of his to the fans. He bounces in the middle of the ring telling his opponent to bring it on.
***Phenomenal***
The music of Shio Corin plays and Flexx sets himself for the guy who debuted last week and took him out. Flexx looks very determined.
Chambers: Last week Corin walked out and had an issue with Flexx’s arrogance and promptly destroyed Strong Island's favourite son. Let’s see what he can do tonight.
Campbell: My man Flexx I’m sure will want to right that wrong from last week Stan, just you watch.
A few moments go by and Corin still hasn't appeared.
Chambers: Well, I’m not so sure we’re going to watch anything at this rate, where is Corin?
The music stops and Flexx seems to have a sly smirk on his face.
***Phenomenal***
Corin’s music hits again and the fans wait anxiously for him.
Chambers: We are getting word form the back that Corin is nowhere to be found CC...
Corin’s music fades out and Emma Mason is putting her hand to her ear.
Mason: Ladies and gentlemen, it seems Shio Corin has forfeited the match. The winner and moving onto the next round in the Tournament, Flexx Palumbo!
The fans both boo and cheer this decision as once again Flexx starts jumping around as if he had just won the World title! He leaps up on to the turnbuckles and starts flexing and yelling out to the fans, with the cheers fading to total boos now for his antics! Flexx jumps to the middle of the ring and waits for his arm to be raised. The referee Gwen Jeffers does and it just sets Flexx off again, running around the ring and he even tries to jump in the air and do the splits, which he almost hurts himself doing...
He jumps out of the ring looking for high fives, but the fans don’t want to give it to him. He doesn’t seem to care as he jumps up and down celebrating his “hard fought” victory.
Chambers: Where is Corin, CC? This was an opportunity of a lifetime. A chance to walk straight into the biggest wrestling company in the world and have a shot at winning any title they wished by winning the Torch... I’m dumb founded...
Campbell: Maybe Ms Page thought he wasn’t fit to wrestle like she did with Cheri last week? I have no idea Stan.... Did he miss a connecting flight? We don’t know anything about him to comment... I guess...
We get a skyline shot of Portland as we speed through the streets and even move across the water from the river surrounding the city. We finally head back to the Moda Center with thousands of PWC fans streaming in. We see fans holding up signs for the hometown hero Jensen, some fans cosplaying as the former World Champion Donald Hammerpunch and his students and a screaming young fans pointing to their Bruce Thorn and Austin Angel t-shirts, there's even another troop of fans all dressed in black with a bunch of small signs saying "Crowley's Cult Section".
We see cut to a scene from earlier in the day with shots of different PWC stars entering the arena and being greeted by the fans. We see Jensen wearing a pale grey suit and pulling a roller bag entering and being greeted by a gigantic ovation from his home town crowd all lined up on the guardrail. We also see Austin Angel in sunglasses and a black t-shirt getting a mixed reaction as he enters holding the hand of his fast rising star singer girlfriend Becca who's wearing a sundress and her hair pinned back, as the couple ignore the fans and make their to the arena, until Stan Chambers voices draws our attention.
Chambers: Welcome back everyone to PWC Vortex, there has been a development and we are going to send the cameras backstage.
Shio Corin is being held back by several security guards as Flexx Palumbo laughs at him. Corin screams that he’s going to kill Flexx for this. Flexx quickly runs off as Corin is being restrained. Corin pushes a few guards off him as they ask him to calm down. Kira Wells tries to get a word with him.
Wells: Shio, Shio, what happened? Why didn't you come to ringside tonight?
Corin: WHY? WHY? Get off me bitch! I’ll tell you why! That piece of shit Flexx Palumbo locked me in my dressing room. I couldn’t get out. I’m gonna kill that mutha****! GET OFF ME!!!
Security try to get him to calm down.
Wells: Shio, Shio, if you calm down I’ll bring Ms Page down here to see what she can do, but you need to calm down first....
Corin takes a deep breath and stops struggling.
Corin: Bring me Page... now...
Wells agrees and scurries off to get the Interim GM, as we go back to ringside.
Campbell: Well that's a strange situation.
Chambers: Whatever happens I fear for Flexx's life when Corin gets his hands on him again. In another very explosive situation, let's take a look at Nero response to Bruce Thorn calling him out from earlier this week.
We see a black sports car pull up to a 5 star hotel in Portland as the doors slowly raise up with Dr. Nero as he steps out dressed in a fine black suit, expensive Italian shoes and a huge gold watch adorning his wrist. Nero steps to the other side of the car and helps his companion Ellie out of the car who is equally resplendent in a dazzling short black dress. Ellie slips her arm through Nero's as the power couple head towards the hotel. We see Danny Eriksen with a camera crew running towards the former World Champion and Ellie.
Eriksen: Nero! Nero! Please can we have a word?
Nero shoots the out of breathe Eriksen a filthy look.
Nero: What have I told you about following me to the hotel’s we are staying at trying to get me to answer some of those inane, stupid questions of yours, Eriksen. I thought I made myself perfectly clear.
PWC’s roving reporters takes in a nervous gulp before answering the question.
Eriksen: I meant no disrespect Dr. Nero, sir. I just….I just think…well the PWC audience want to know what your thoughts are on Bruce Thorn challenging you earlier this week, essentially….
Nero continues staring a hole in Eriksen with a disinterested Ellie twirling a lock of hair around her finger.
Eriksen: Well essentially calling you out and challenging you to a match on Vortex.
The God Complex considers this tiny man Eriksen’s question for a moment before a wry smile passes his lips.
Nero: I heard his challenge.
A shocked and nervous Danny Eriksen steps a little closer to the couple and lifts his mic up towards the tall wrestler.
Nero: And the answer is….NO!
Eriksen: No?
Nero: Are you deaf, Eriksen? No. N-O. It’s as simple as that. I should be in line for a World Heavyweight Championship match. That abject failure Donald Hammerpunch is longer Champion so that buffoon Clement’s ruling that I cannot challenge for the title is no more. That’s the match I should be in, that’s the match my talents demand me to be in. Not some “challenge” against some insolent little pup trying to reach above his station.
Nero adjusts the sleeves of his suit touching his gold cuff links for a moment before continuing.
Nero: He’s a cockroach. A pest I can crush beneath my feet. Thorn still has a career out of the goodness of my heart. I could have ended him last week, I could’ve broken his leg in two, smashed his head in and ended him forever but I didn’t because I’m a benevolent man and because he does not even deserve the honor of me ending his miserable existence in this company.
Eriksen: But Nero?
Nero: There are no buts here Eriksen, Thorn will not have his match and I will become World Champion again. Now get off these premises before I have security forcefully do it for you.
Nero and Ellie regally stride away inside the hotel as Danny rounds up the crew and steps away.
***CUT TO COMMERCIAL***
We cut to the backstage area to a scene from earlier today where Kira Wells is waiting with mic in hand.
Wells: Tonight we witness the debut of another one of Ms. Page’s newest signing here in PWC. This man will be involved in the one of the prestigious Prometheus Torch matches. That man is Hugh Reynolds. Now not a lot is known about Hugh but we’re here outside his locker room with a few questions for him so the PWC audience can get to know him a little better.
Kira goes to knock on the locker room door with Hugh Reynolds name on it. As she is about to tap the door she hears Hugh's voice coming from inside, it’s sounds like he maybe having a conversation with someone.
Wells: Oh, I think he may be on the phone or something best we come back later.
Kira makes to leave when the door suddenly swings opens. Hugh Reynolds walks out dressed in a SWAT Helmet, leather gloves in each hand, combat pants and a black kevlar vest that seems to be riddled with bullet holes. The man’s dark eyes are bloodshot as he eyes a shocked Kira Wells. PWC’s resident reporter takes a step back before addressing this strange wrestler.
Wells: Mr. Reynolds, apologies for disturbing you, we thought we heard you on the phone with someone so we…..
Reynolds stares at Kira for just a moment before walking away.
Wells: Wait Mr. Reynolds, we’d like a word with you before……
Reynolds is already half way across the hallway with Kira’s pleas falling on deaf ears.
Wells: ….your match with Aaron Kendrick tonight….
A downtrodden looking Kira looks into the camera once more.
Wells: Well it looks like we won’t be having that conversation with Hugh Reynolds. But what we will have is another Prometheus match tonight with Reynolds taking on the devious Aaron Kendrick.
A graphic for the Prometheus Torch pops up onto screen. We see shots of Barney Williams winning the Torch and then cashing in his shot last week on Vortex before we hear Stan Chambers voice in the background with the scene switching to the entrance ramp.
Match 3
Promtheus Torch Tournament – Round 1 match
Aaron Kendrick vs Hugh Reynolds
Chambers: Alright fans, are you ready for another Prometheus match.
Campbell: I can’t wait for this one, Stan. We’ve got a great PWC star in Aaron Kendrick getting ready to book his place in the next round.
Chambers: And The Franchise Aaron Kendrick will be up against the newest member of the PWC roster Hugh Reynolds. What can you tell us about Reynolds, CC.
Campbell: Almost nothing, Stan. I’ve never seen him anywhere on the wrestling scene before so there’s a real air of mystery around this man. All I know is that apparently Ms. Page and the scouts she’s hired called Hugh Reynolds one of the most impressive brawlers they’ve ever seen.
Chambers: Which is high praise indeed when you consider the caliber of brawlers we’ve had here in PWC.
Campbell: They also mentioned, well that he isn’t, how do I say this…..
Chambers: Isn’t what?
Campbell: Let’s just say he isn’t exactly the most stable character they’ve ever signed to PWC.
Chambers: Well, he’ll feel right at home in PWC then.
***Prefect Stranger***
We head to ringside with the beautiful Emma Mason introducing the wrestlers alongside Senior Referee Gil Artman.
Mason: Introducing first, from Star City, weighing in at 235lbs, “The Franchise” Aaron Kendrick.
The lights turn golden as the organ plays at the start of the “Perfect Strangers”. When the electric guitars come in, sparklers begin shooting down over the entrance as the lights turn dark blue. Kendrick walks through the sparks, as Jade follows close by filming everything on a camera. Kendrick shows off as he walks down the aisle with his nose in the air. He tells Jade to get his best side as he gets into the ring. The first chorus kicks in when blue and white strobes flash across the Moda Center. Kendrick opens the ropes for Jade and lets her into the ring and asks her to make sure she gets him doing his signature taunt as he gets up on the middle rope and stares off into the crowd.
Campbell: Just look at the Franchise, fresh off dispatching La Pantera, you have to believe he’s one of the favourites coming into this tournament.
Chambers: Well Kendrick has competed in PWC longer than most of his adversaries in the Prometheus Flame tournament and as you said, he’s coming off a very impressive win over La Pantera last week.
The big screen flashes with a picture of the Prometheus Flame once more with Aaron Kendrick pointing at the screen and proclaiming himself the future winner.
***Archetype***
As soon as Helix - Archetype starts playing, the titantron starts showing footage of shootings, war, explosions and general destruction with the name ''Hugh Reynolds'' occasionally appearing and disappearing a few times in brief periods of time. This visuals carry on until the following sentences start appearing:
''PREPARING FOR INCURSION...''
''LOCATING TARGET...''
''TARGET FOUND: *INSERT OPPONENT'S NAME HERE*''
''OBJECTIVE: ELIMINATE TARGET''
''DEPLOYING AGENT...''
''STARTING INCURSION...''
The titantron then begins a countdown with the crowd in the arena counting along with it
''3, 2, 1, GO''
With each number and the GO following the beat of the song. After the final beat, the pyro goes off simulating an explosion and Hugh dressed in his SWAT gear. The pyro continues to go off with the fireworks shooting up at the ceiling as Hugh walks to the ring with the sound similar to a gun emptying the magazine. Hugh Reynolds walks down with a purpose with explosive show around him to greet his first PWC entrance. The crowd are unsure what to make of this very unique star but still give him a warm welcome after that incredible entrance. Hugh makes his way down the ramp and climbs the steel steps and gets into the ring.
Mason: And his opponent, from Buenos Aries, Argentina, weighing in at 232lbs, Hugh Reynolds.
Chambers: Well Hugh is actually quite the physical specimen.
Campbell: Yes, at six foot five, Hugh is one of the tallest members of the PWC roster now. Let’s not forget Stan, Kendrick is no bum, the man has taken on plenty of men bigger then him before and won too.
Chambers: The question Is does Hugh’s obvious physical gifts match the skill needed to compete in a place like PWC?
Campbell: He’ll be tested tonight that's for sure, let’s see what the new guy’s got.
Reynolds takes off his SWAT helmet and black kevlar vest and throws it across the ring over Kendrick and Jade’s heads to the timekeeper who nervously catches the gear stumbling over and falling as he does. Kendrick and Jade shoot Reynolds a dirty look, with Kendrick even complaining to Referee Gil Artman. For his part Hugh stretches out his arms, shadow boxing for a second and limbering up for the match to come. Kendrick is raging now, obviously taking Reynolds early actions as a sign of disrespect. He tells Jade to get out of the ring and immediately steps up to Hugh’s face with the new wrestler looking Kendrick straight in the eye and not taking a step back.
Gil Artman knows what's about to go down so he signals for the bell before it does.
Kendrick continues his trash talk right in Reynolds face, reminding PWC’s newest wrestler just who he is up against today.
Kendrick: You want to disrespect the Franchise like that, Rookie. Who do you think you are chump. I’ll beat the ugly right off that stupid face of yours.
Still Reynolds keeps his eyes fixed on Kendrick, his jaw clinched and his fists balled up and to his sides.
Kendrick: What are you deaf, do you understand what I am saying to you right now?
The Franchise looks back at Jade on the outside and points at Reynolds shaking his head, before spinning around and slapping the man in the face. Kendrick lets out a good laugh with Jade joining in on the outside. Hugh takes the slap and lifts his head back up slowly to meet Kendrick's gaze. As their eyes meet we see the look in Hugh Reynolds eyes, it’s a look of fury and pure unadulterated anger. Kendrick sees this too and the smile suddenly disappears from his face. He goes to throw another right hand but this time Reynolds blocks and fires back with a Headbutt to Kendrick’s temple!
The crowd gasp as the sound of Hugh’s head hitting Kendrick’s sounds off throughout the arena. Kendrick goes down instantly holding his head in pain and checking for blood. Hugh wipes his head with the back of his hand and immediately goes on the offensive. The savage combatant Reynolds dives into Kendrick lifting him up and pushing him back before immediately going for the big right hands as Kendrick gets trapped in the corner. Kendrick tries to cover up the barrage of blows he is taking with Reynolds throwing wild right hands to the face and the body. The Moda Center let out a good ovation for Reynolds as the wild and unpredictable man goes to town on the arrogant Kendrick. Kendrick tries to fight back, stomping on the leg, which pushes Reynolds back for a moment and then going for the big right hand of his own. Again He sees it coming, blocks with his left then fires back with a stinging right hand to the jaw.
Kendrick staggers back and falls into the corner before pulling himself along the ropes looking to find some respite but the debutant won’t give him a moment’s rest first throwing the big elbow to the back of his foe’s neck then kicking his leg from under him and sending the Franchise head over heels. Jade tries to rally Kendrick from the outside, poking her head underneath the bottom rope and yelling encouragement but it’s the crowd that are taking to Reynolds with many cheering every time he throws another big bomb. Kendrick sends a short sharp jab of his own that seems to stun Reynolds for a moment as he stumbles back. The Franchise stands up and goes flying in, looking to take his foe off his feet but Reynolds regains his composure, sees him coming and nails the Scoop Slam with tremendous velocity. Jades shrieks on the outside as Reynolds wraps the arm and goes for the cover.

Thr..Kickout! Artman signals a two count as Kendrick just manages to kick out in time. The Franchise again tries to crawl away looking to find a way to slow the juggernaut that is Reynolds down. He pulls himself up by the ropes with Reynolds shaking his head and telling the man he isn’t going anyway. Reynolds grabs Kendrick by the hair spins him around and scores with the go behind. The man looks to lift Kendrick in the air and nail the German Suplex. He goes to lift Kendrick but the Franchise blocks with his right leg. Again the debutant looks for the suplex but again Kendrick blocks with the crafty PWC regular slamming his fist into Reynolds fingers and breaking his hold around his waist. He quickly scores with a go behind of his own. Reynolds tries to elbow him off but Kendrick shows his superior pure technical wrestling ability by hooking Reynolds arms and hitting the Tiger Suplex, even bridging into the cover.

Two….
Thr..Kickout! Reynolds kicks out, and then grabs the back of his head in pain after being downed with the Tiger Suplex. Kendrick stands up with a smile on his face, he points to his head, letting the crowd know how much smarter he is than the Bruiser he’s battling. Kendrick slams his boot into Reynolds fingers with the newcomer cringing in pain before smashing another boot to the head that takes the man to the canvas. The confidence is oozing through Kendrick once more as he calls for Jade to start filming, he doesn’t want to miss a second of him dominating. Reynolds tries to pull himself up but eats another shot, this time Kendrick showing quick feet as he jumps on the middle rope and comes crashing down on his foe with the elbow. The Franchise is really feeling good now, he strikes a pose for Jade with the camera on the outside and then points to his ears to taunt the crowd before pointing down at his opponent and reminding everyone what a rookie looks like. Kendrick calls for the end as he looks to bring Reynolds to his feet, he hooks the arm and looks to hit his version of the falcon arrow, the Talent Exchange. Kendrick goes to lift up his foe but this time its Reynolds that blocks, this timing firing a hard right hand to the body with Kendrick immediately clutching his ribs. Reynolds is fired up now, he grits his teeth and fight through the pain after Kendrick assault and begins another barrage of strikes, firing off right hands and pushing his foe back once more. Kendrick tries to answer with strikes of his own but Reynolds has the momentum now as he goes on the rampage with the Assault Gun, throwing two quick open hand strikes to the face, the backhand to the jaw and the kick to the temple. Kendrick falls into the ropes but Reynolds isn’t done, he rebounds off the opposite side and comes flying in with the big kick to the jaw. Kendrick goes down. Reynolds falls into another cover.

Kickout! Again Kendrick survives. He pulls himself towards the ropes looking to escape the danger but Reynolds is all over him again. The six foot five Bruiser grabs Kendrick and looks to lock in his version of the Cobra Clutch but Kendrick senses the danger and quickly tries to find the ropes. He seems to just be too far away and screams for Jade to help. Jade drops the camera and pushes the ropes towards Kendrick. Eagle eyed referee Artman immediately kicks the ropes back and admonishes Jade but the distraction is enough to help Kendrick escape the move and turn Reynolds into a Russian Leg sweep. Kendrick tells the crowd it’s over and immediately goes for another attempt at The Talent Exchange. He lifts Reynolds into the air and looks to drop him down him but the newcomer counters with a savage knee to the temple on his way down. Kendrick falls back holding his head, He staggers into Reynolds who smashes the man in the face with the uppercut, grabs his arm before he can fall down and lifts him up on his shoulders. The crowd let out a roar, enjoying the intensity of PWC’s latest star and seeing the villain Kendrick get his. Reynolds holds Kendrick up for a moment and then spectacularly brings him down with "Somewhere in the MadWorld", dropping the man into the knee buster! Cover!

Winner: Hugh Reynolds
***Archetype***
Reynolds seems to muttering something to himself as Gil Artman nervously tries to lift his arm up in victory. Reynolds looks down at the small referee before finally allowing him to do his job. The crowd let out another roar as PWC’s newest and strangest tough guy gets the win. Jade pulls Kendrick underneath the bottom rope and tries to console her man.
Chambers: Reynolds is one tough dude.
Campbell: Not just tough, but scary as well. I said before this one started that I thought Kendrick was the favourite to take this whole thing home and Reynold proved me wrong, a very impressive win by the new guy.
Chambers: Ms. Page must be extremely happy with the way some of these new signing have turned out tonight.
We head backstage where we see Brittany Page in her office deep in conversation with a tall tanned man with startling blonde slicked back hair wearing a jet black suit. Ms. Page is excitedly showing the man highlights from tonight’s show when one of her many assistants comes in to talk to her.
Assistant: Ms. Page, Ms. Page.
Ms. Page: Didn’t I say I was in an important meeting and I didn’t want to be disturbed?
Assistant: I apologise Ms. Page, but it’s Danny Eriksen. You know how he is when he wants a story. He asked if he could have an interview with you. He says that the PWC fans all have been asking for one.
Page rolls her eyes but her guest lets out a slight smile. He seems to nod his head towards the door almost inviting Page to let Eriksen in.
Ms. Page: Fine, let Danny in. I’m sure our audience will love to hear from us.
The assistant quickly runs to the door and let’s Danny in who slowly steps into the office with mic in hand and a camera following him. Eriksen greets Page and immediately begins.
Eriksen: Ms. Page, firstly I believe a lot of fans would like to know what your thought process was when you put together the match for our main event this evening with the World Champion Crowley having to team with the number one contender and former World Champion Donald Hammerpunch.
Ms. Page: It's simple Danny, we want to have exciting and unpredictable matches here in PWC and what’s more exciting and unpredictable than the team of Crowley and Hammerpunch.
Eriksen: Do you believe they’ll get along?
Ms. Page: Well they’ll have to if they want to win. That’s exactly why I booked Shadow and Austin Angel as they’re opponents. Two of the best we have in PWC and men who’ve been on an absolute roll lately. Crowley and Hammerpunch will never be able to beat that team unless they find a way to work together.
Danny’s eyes flick towards the ominous figure of the man standing next to Page for a moment. She notices this and the man lets out a warm smile for Danny.
Ms. Page: Ah yes Danny. You must be wondering who my guest is right. Well I’d like to introduce you and our audience to my latest signing, a man I’m absolutely thrilled is joining PWC to compete against some of the best in the world, his name is Jacob Bianchi.
Danny nods his head with Bianchi immediately closing in for a firm handshake with him.
Bianchi: Pleased to meet you Mr. Eriksen, I’m a huge fan of your work.
Eriksen lets out a huge smile at that. He goes to ask Bianchi a question but Brittany suddenly cuts him off.
Ms. Page: No, no Danny. We’ll have plenty of time to have an interview with Mr. Bianchi, he’ll be making his debut soon enough.
Bianchi: And I also have to be on my way. Danny it was a real pleasure to meet you.
Bianchi acknowledges Ms. Page and Eriksen with a smile again and then takes his leave, gliding across the room and heading out of the door.
Page: Now Danny, if you’d excuse me I have a show to run.
Eriksen thanks Ms. Page for her time and immediately leaves through the door with his camera crew in toe. The acting head of PWC Brittany Page turns on the live feed from the arena floor on the television set in her office as she gets ready for the next match.
We head back to ringside with Stan Chambers and Charlie Campbell at the announce desk.
Chambers: Well people, throughout the night we’ve shown you the events of earlier this week with Bruce Thorn issuing Nero a challenge to a match here tonight in Portland after Nero interfered in his TV Title match last week with the former World Champion refusing him.
Campbell: Yes, in Nero’s mind Thorn isn’t on his level and not worth his time. He’s after the World Heavyweight title after Hammeprunch lost it and ended the clause preventing Nero from competing in a title match.
Chambers: Well it turns out that earlier today Thorn took that decision out of Nero’s hands.
We cut to a scene from earlier in the day with Nero and Ellie arriving at the Moda Center underground parking in their flashy black sports car. The couple stride towards the arena with a few eager fans in the entrance to the parking area, with some shouting for an autograph, some taking pictures of the glamorous pair and a few others booing loudly. Nero impassively ignores the fans and with Ellie on his arm and makes their way to the arena entrance.
Suddenly with a flash Ellie lets out a cry as Nero hits the ground holding the back of his head and a man wearing a black hoodie stands over him. The stunned crowd watching on let out a massive roar as the man lifts his hood to reveal himself, its Bruce Thorn!
The former Television Champion looks down at Nero, his eyes full of malice. Thorn bends down on his hunches and pulls Nero up by the ear.
Thorn: I’m not worth your time huh, Nero. Is that how it is. Well you’re going to make time now.
Raging he pulls him to his feet and drives his knee into the midsection with Nero clutching his ribs in pain. Thorn continues his assault pulling him up and then sending him hurtling towards a nearby car denting the side of the door. Ellie tries to reason with Thorn but to no avail as the enraged wrestler only has eyes for his fallen foe.
Thorn: I’m not worth having a match with huh, no, no, no. We’re having a match. We’re having a match right now.
Thorn grabs Nero’s head and bashes it against the dented door before dragging the fallen former Champion towards a forklift and placing him on the platform in front. He gets into the driver’s seat and turns on the engine before driving off with a groggy Nero on the front. The cameras follow the forklift as Ellie screams for help in terror with the gathering crowd losing their minds in the background.
The cameras switch as we see Thorn speeding through the arena with backstage staff swaying out of the way with shocked looks on their faces as they watch Thorn haul Nero on the forklift. The vehicle continues its journey as it enters the arena floor as Thorn commands the PWC staff working on the ringside area to move out of the way. Thorn accelerates and crashes the forklift into the steel steps next to the ring with Nero bumping around on the platform. He steps out of the driver’s seat and rips off his hoodie.
Thorn: We’re having that damn match right now.
He lifts Nero off the forklift and throws him into the ring which is still missing the apron covering and the turnbuckle pads. Thorn grabs a hammer from a tool box left by the crew nearby and slams it into the ring post three times.
Thorn: "Ding, Ding, Ding"
The second generation star throws down the hammer and slides into the ring with Nero. He yanks the former World Champion to his feet before whipping him across the ring with Nero’s back hitting the exposed turnbuckles. Nero cringes in pain as his back hits the exposed steel. He falls down clutching behind him. Thorn has a huge smile on his face, taking great glee in inflicting pain on his rival. He pulls Nero to his feet once more and smashes the man with a hard forearm shot to the jaw that knocks him back down.
Thorn: You don’t respect me? Well I'm going to beat the respect out of you.
He grabs onto Nero’s fine suit that he arrived at the arena with and rips the jacket off and tears his shirt. He pulls the man violently to his feet once more and then pulls him into position for the Thorn in Your side. He looks to lift Nero up but the former Champion blocks with whatever strength he has left. Thorn looks to overpower the man but again he blocks this time sending an elbow into the side of his foe’s head. Thorn releases the hold with Nero dropping to his knees and then smashing Thorn with a low blow.
Bruce goes down in pain grabbing at his groan with Nero falling back and taking a few deep breathes. A feral look descends on the God Complex as he looks at Thorn writhing in agony after the low blow. He seems to realize for the first time what Thorn had just tried to do to him. Nero pulls his body up and goes in full speed with a knee to the temple to the prone Thorn who goes down in a heap. The former World Champion mounts his prey and begins to batter Thorn with a barrage of hard right hands to his skull. Nero hauls Thorn to his feet and then throws him out through the ropes to the floor. He slowly hobbles out of the ring after his prey with Thorn suddenly finding a burst of energy and tackling Nero as he does. The two men trade strikes on the floor with Thorn first getting the upper hand then Nero fighting back, each man trying hard to get the mount. Suddenly Nero takes control by showing his incredible grappling skills, grabbing Thorn's arm, switching positions and sinking in the armbar. Bruce Thorn realizes the danger he is in and immediately uses his power and pulls himself and the large frame of his foe up. Nero holds on to the hold looking to fully lock it in. His eyes go wide as Thorn shows amazing strength pulling him up and turning towards the barricades, with the steel frames still uncovered. Thorn walks slowly towards the steel with Nero still locked to his arm. He grits his teeth and looks to lift Nero up and smash him into the steel. The former Champion sees the danger and quickly releases the hold to avoid disaster. Thorn goes to attack once more but this time Nero is ready, dropping down and smashing Thorn’s leg with a low kick. Thorn goes down in pain with Nero like a shark smelling blood in the water, he quickly and violently pulls Thorn’s leg into position and lifts him up by the knee before smashes him into the exposed barricade steel with the sickening blow filling the empty arena. Thorn goes down holding his leg with Nero quickly locking in the Amputation!
Thorn screams out in pain with Nero wrenching back on the hold.
Nero: You wanted this didn’t you? You wanted me in a match. You asked for it, now I’ll take your damn leg.
Thorn claws around looking to pull himself out of harm’s way. He sees the hammer from earlier laying on the ground and goes to grab it, but Nero sees and pulls back, taking him away from his salvation.
Nero: There is no escaping this, time to end your miserable career.
Thorn bites his hand in pain as Nero pulls back with all his force. Suddenly PWC officials start filing into the arena floor and then to ringside as Thorn’s screams of pain echo across the empty Moda Center. Ms. Page is one of the officials as she looks on as Nero looks to break Thorn’s leg. She ordered the staff around her to separate the two men with all running over to try and pry Thorn from Nero’s grasp. Thorn’s fight to free himself is almost non-existent now as the pain from the devastating move has almost paralyzed him. Nero pulls back even further, his eyes dark with anger. Three officials try in vain to pull Nero free, with Page sending more in to help. It takes a total of eight men to finally pull Nero off with the former Champion almost frothing at the mouth. Thorn crawls away in pain clutching his leg. Ellie has arrived as well, running towards her man. Nero moves Ellie aside with the officials having to form a human wall to try and stop him from finishing Thorn off for good.
Nero: Take that piece of trash out of my sight. If I ever see him again, it’ll be the last breath he draws.
The God Complex finds his now customary cold demeanor once more. He sends Ellie back to the ring to fetch his destroyed suit jacket before hobbling away with Ellie nervously following behind. Thorn watches Nero leave from the floor as he clutches his leg in pain through angry eyes with Brittany Page sending for medical staff as the scene fades out.
A buzz descends on the Moda Center as a ripple sweeps across the Portland crowd. The PWC cameras sweep across the arena following the excited fans with Jensen signs all around before descending upon the ring with Emma Mason and Senior Official Gil Artman inside ready to begin the first match.
Mason: The following contest scheduled for one fall is for the PWC Television Championship.
A Television Title graphic pops up on screen with the crowd letting out the biggest roar of the night in anticipation of the hometown hero Jensen making an appearance.
Campbell: Can you feel it, Stan? This place is about to explode.
Chambers: This will be Jensen’s first appearance here in Portland with PWC and his hometown fans can’t wait to see their hero in action!
***Good Dirty Fun***
Mason: Introducing first the challenger, from Hollywood California, weighing in at 195lbs, bringing his Gust or Bust tour to Portland, William Gust!
This isn’t the usual William Gust entrance so full of pomp and circumstance. Instead Gust bursts through the curtain not wearing any of his usual high fashion accessories, with no caped robe. Instead Gust wears nothing but his normal ring attire. Gust has his eyes focused on the ring in front of him. He strides with a purpose towards his destination with the boos engulfing the Moda Center and washing all over him. Gust strides up the ring steps, gets into the ring and stands in the corner, his eyes fixed on the entrance ramp and full of malice.
Campbell: Wait, what is this. This isn’t the William Gust I know and love. Where’s all that Hollywood flash and pageantry?
Chambers: I like this side of Gust. He’s taking this match so seriously, more so than anything else he’s done in PWC.
Campbell: Yes, there’s something different about Gusts eyes. He’s a man on a mission, a mission to win that Television Title belt.
A hush descends on the crowd once more but only for a moment before a massive “Jensen” chant breaks out when the song they’ve been waiting all night to hear starts playing.
***The Pines***
The Pines starts blaring across the Moda Center. After a while Jensen appears from behind the curtains with his arms outstretched to embrace his hometown crowd. Jensen points at the TV Title around his waist as a huge roar sweeps across the arena to greet their hero. He then walks down the ramp to give high fives to fans at ringside. Once he steps into the ring he pauses for a few seconds then the lights dim to a blue/purpe hue. His jacket then lights up revealing an assortment of colors sending the crowd into raptures. He poses in the center of the ring while looking directly at William Gust on the other side of the ring. Jensen takes off his jacket before unbuckling the TV title and handing it over to Referee Gil Artman.
Mason: And his opponent, he is the PWC Television Champion, from right here in Portland, weighing in at 217lbs, Jensen!!!
Chambers: As TV Champion you have to defend that belt on every single PWC show and tonight is no different. Jensen has to be a fighting champion, a role he relishes.
Campbell: None more so than tonight.
Chambers: Gust has gone after Jensen’s friend Morgan LaClaire and made some outrageous insinuations.
Campbell: I mean, how outrageous could these rumors really be?
Chambers: You can’t be serious, CC?
Campbell: There’s always some truth to rumors like these in Hollywood, we know how these types are.
Chambers: Rumors started by Gust himself!
Jensen and Gust stand across the ring from each other, looking dead in the other man's eyes. Jensen limbers up ready to go with Gust standing straight and still and eyeing the Champion with a look of determination etched on his face.
Campbell: I understand that Jensen has friends and family here today to see this Championship match. You wonder the effect performing in front of all these will have on him.
Gil Artman calls for the bell and the two men square up.
***Ding, Ding, Ding***
Match 4
PWC Television Title Match
Jensen (c) vs William Gust
Gust comes storming out of his corner bursting into Jensen with a massive tackle that takes him off his feet. Gust seems like a completely different man, swarming all over Jensen and attacking him like a feral dog. Gust throws left and right hands on the ground as the crowd let out a massive torrent of boos as their hero looks to be in some deep trouble with the Challenger having such a fast start. The Champion tries to fight out of it, fighting back with shots from the ground himself, turning his body and trying to rip himself free but Gust is like a predator mauling his prey as he continues his assault with hard right and left hands to the downed Champion. The Hollywood star looks to press home his advantage with Jensen down as he fires off a rapid fire knee to the midsection and then following up with another to the head. Jensen grabs his head in pain with Gust quickly moving to a shot to the breadbasket that drives the wind from his foe. Jensen tries to fight Gust off but can’t seem to stop his opponent from dominating these early exchanges.
Chambers: William Gust is like a man possessed in there, he’s absolutely mauling Jensen.
Campbell: I told you there was a different look in that man’s eyes today, he’s needs that Television Title belt and he’ll do anything to win it.
Gust finally releases the pressure on his fallen foe but for just a moment as he explodes up in the air and then comes crashing down with another massive knee drop to the sternum. Jensen is completely out of breath, overwhelmed by the fury of Gust’s attack. Gust drives his elbow into the cheek of the Champion and hooked the leg for the cover. Artman slides in and makes the count.
One…
Kickout! Jensen defiantly kicks out at one with Gust slamming his fist into the mat in frustration. He looks down at the Champion once more who is trying to pull himself back to his feet. Gust springs back to a vertical base, runs towards and bounces off the ropes and comes flying in with the Slider Special, his running Elbow to a seated opponent, with pinpoint accuracy nailing Jensen right in the jaw with the point of his elbow. Gust isn’t done yet. He quickly climbs to the top rope, ignoring all the boos raining down from the Portland crowd, steadies himself for a moment and comes flying off with the Diving Knee Drop, again hitting his move with pinpoint accuracy. Jensen is clutching his head in pain with Gust again going for the cover, hooking the leg and forcing all his weight down on his downed foe.
One…
Two…
Th…Kickout! Jensen kicks out once more, this time with far less authority. Gust gets up and kicks the bottom rope in frustration at not being able to put away the Champion. He looks over to the timekeepers area and sees the TV Title belt, before looking back at Jensen with renewed strength in his eyes. He wants that title and needs that title.
The Portland crowd sense the great danger their hometown hero is in after not being able to mount a single bit of offense since the start of the match. The crowd in unison begin a massive Jensen chant that seems to shake the very foundation of the Moda Center. Jensen pulls himself up using the bottom rope. He hears the crowd and finds his own will to fight on. Gust goes to pick Jensen up for another attack but the TV Champion fires back with a hard right hand of his own. Gust staggers back holding his mouth in pain. He fires up and goes for another attack but Jensen catches him with another right hand coming in. Jensen has found his strength once more and fires off another right hand and then another all knocking back his foe. The A-Lister Gust hits the ropes and tries to knock Jensen off his feet with a running clothesline but Jensen ducks underneath and catches the man coming back in with a huge Dropkick right to the jaw. Gust bounces back up but eats another shot, this time a Slingblade from the resurgent Champion. Gust goes down with Jensen fired up. He looks to the crowd who have completely lost their minds, cheering on the man they adore. He pulls Gust to his feet, places him into position and then nails the Northern Lights Suplex! Jensen bridging over and flips his body to find his feet once more but with Gust still well and truly in his grasp. The Champion locks his arms around his opponent and then nails the Belly to Back Suplex! Jensen falls into the cover with the referee starting the count.
One…
Two…
Kickout! It’s Gust’s turn to kick out now. Jensen looks down at the Challenger, nodding his head and acknowledging that it will take a whole lot more to finish off William Gust. He looks to pick him up by his hair but the crafty Challenger sees his chance and pulls Jensen’s tights, sending him face first into the middle turnbuckle in the corner. Gust falls back, then finds his feet before calling for Jensen to get up. He measured his man and turns his hands into the shape of a camera shot. The Moda Center crowd all hold their breath. They know what Gust is setting up for, his devastating finisher The Beauty Shot. Gust screams for Jensen to find his feet and immediately explodes into the Beauty Shot attempt! But Jensen drops to his knees and misses the attack. Gust stands him with his back turns to Jensen after missing the attack with the Champion quickly moving into position and hitting Falling Overhead kick to the back of Gust’s head. The Challenger hits the floor like a stone with Jensen unrelenting, pulling Gust to his feet by his neck. He looks into the crowd, maybe catching a few familiar faces before letting out a slight smile and then nails Censored Colors!

The crowd are on their feet….
Two…
They count along with the referee….
Three….It’s Over!
Winner: Jensen
***The Pines***
The crowd erupt as the TV Champion pops up in triumph punching the air in victory! Referee Artman brings the belt to Jensen and then raises his hand in victory as Portland parties for a victory from one of their own.
Chambers: We saw a different William Gust today, we saw a man try everything he could to take the win home, but in the end it just wasn’t enough against our great TV Champion, Jensen.
Campbell: Gust brought the best performance I’ve ever seen from him inside a PWC ring but it just wasn’t enough on this night. What a TV Champion Jensen has become, he’s really bringing his A game to the table as Champion.
Chambers: It must feel so sweet after all the things Gust has said about his good friend and co-star Morgan LaClaire.
Jensen stands on the middle rope in the corner with his title in hand looking out into the crowd and loving every moment of his hometown celebrating his victory. The crowd are still on their feet, sending all their love to their guy………………..when suddenly a shriek of terror erupts at one end of the arena that ripples across the crowd. Some point to Jensen to tell him to look behind him but by it’s too late, Jensen is down!
Chambers: Oh my….Who is that?
Campbell: Whoever he is, he just ruined Jensen and Portland’s victory party.
The camera zooms out and standing over Jensen is a large bearded man wearing a straw hat. The man takes off his hat and shakes off his stringy long brown hair. Through his beard we see the beginnings of a twisted smile as he stared a hole in the downed Jensen.
Chambers: Wait I know who that is, remember those videos from the last week, this must be…
Campbell: Remy Dieu, one of Brittany Page’s new signings.
Remy looks at out into the crowd, again a deranged smile peaks out from under his thick beard. He looks down at Jensen once more before calmly striding over to a corner and placing his hat on the ring post. He takes off his shirt and reveals a body covered in tattoos. Remy walks over to Jensen and stands over the fallen Champion. He bends down and picks Jensen’s head off the ground. THen he speaks, his voice booming over the stunned crowd.
Dieu: I can help you Jensen, I can make you better. I can save you from the ills and the trapping that have overtaken your life. That healing starts tonight. Just remember, sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind.
Remy kisses Jensen on the forehead, smiles one last time and then smashes his fist into his temple. One shot after the other Remy is almost in another world as he beats down the TV Champion with one hard shot after the other. Some members of the audience can’t watch as Jensen is battered by this huge man.
Chambers: Someone stop this.
The crowd go from shocked silence to boos as Remy continues his savage assault on his foe, repeatedly striking Jensen in the head. Referee Gil Artman tries to pull Remy off Jensen but the big man continues his assault each shot harder than the one before until finally he stops. He looks out at the horrified faces in the crowd and laughs manically. He stands up and stretches his arms out to all in attendance.
Dieu: Don’t be afraid, I’m here to help.
PWC’s newest star explodes from his standing position with speed and force unnatural for a man his size and comes crushing down on the motionless Jensen with the Running Senton! The crowd continue to boo with Artman pleads with the man to stop this. Remy simply walks over to his hat, puts it back on his head and looks down at the fallen Champion.
Dieu: Your healing has just begun.
The mysterious new star exits the ring without another word while Artman calls for medical attention for the fallen Jensen.
Chambers: What did we just witness?
Campbell: Remy Dieu making his presence known here in PWC in a huge way, it’s not the most popular thing to do but that’s how you really make a statement.
***CUT TO COMMERCIAL***
Chambers: Ladies and gentleman, it's main event time.
Campbell: I can't wait for this.....
Ms. Page: Cut his mic off! Charlie I’m out here to inform you and everyone watching round the world that you’re presence here on PWC Vortex is no longer required.
Ms. Page comes stomping down to ringside.
Campbell: What? What are you..
Ms. Page: You’re fired Charlie. Get him out of my building!
The fans erupt! Booing Page and what she has done to the fan favourite Charlie Campbell! Page motions to the security guards as the knock CC’s headset off and each grab an arm to lead him out.
Chambers: Hang on here Brittany, you can’t just...
Page: I just did Stan, and if you want to keep your job you’ll sit down and do it. It’s about time I brought some ratings to the this show, some damn rock and roll to commentary instead of you two old bores.
Chambers is speechless as CC is being carried out by security. The fans are livid and boo the decision. CC is being hauled up the ramp when ...
***Catch Your Breath***
The fans erupt in another storm of boos as it looks like the man replacing Campbell is the notorious Daiko! Daiko walks out and he is laughing at Campbell. He taps CC on his head. He’s wearing a black suit with a black t-shirt. He laughs at the fans before stopping and telling the security guards to hold up. He points an imaginary gun at Campbell... and runs in with a Boma Ye!!!!! No... he stops short just before contact and laughs slapping his leg. The fans boo as poor Charlie Campbell almost has a heart attack. Daiko can be heard saying “Hit the bricks ya loser” as he straightens up his jacket and makes his way down to ringside. Brittany Page can be seen applauding Daiko as he rolls into the ring, keeps rolling, and falls out the other side to greet Ms Page with a handshake. Chambers isn’t impressed but tries to be professional. He holds his hand out, but Daiko just laughs at him and puts on the headset.
Daiko: Well, well, well, looks who’s back here in PWC. Hey Stan what’s the matter, you not happy to see me. You need to lighten up man you’re bound to have a stroke. Besides we’re gonna be spending a lot of time with each other brother. So you better be on your best behaviour, I wouldn’t want a stray knee smashing you right between the eyes.
Chambers: Well..ah, no, I mean.....
Daiko: Lighten up Chambers, I’m only kidding. No I’m not really. Anyway let’s get this damn Main Event under way I’ve got places to be.
Main Event
Tag Team Match:
Crowley (c) & Donald Hammerpunch vs Shadow (c) & Austin Angel
The lights in the Moda Center dim and then flash as the Emma Mason stands ready to introduce the main event.
Mason: Ladies and gentleman, it’s time for your main event of the evening.
Emma Mason takes the mic and gets proceedings underway. The fans are still in shock over what just happened to the very popular veteran commentator Campbell. A huge “Charlie Campbell” chant breaks out throughout the arena followed by a “Brittany Sucks” chant as well. Emma Mason takes a moment for the crowd to claim down before introducing the main event.
Daiko: What the hell’s wrong with these people? Brittany Page brings them change, good change, change that will make this show better and this is the thanks she gets?
Mason: Ladies and Gentleman, it’s time for your main event of the evening.
The Portland crowd settle down realizing the huge match about to take place.
Mason: The following tag team match is scheduled for one fall.
***Tyrants***
The lights go out as Tyrants begins to play. The eerie intro echoes throughout the Moda Center. A very dim light illuminates the stage, ramp and ring area as smoke fills the stage. Suddenly the song kicks in. It is so loud not a single person can hear their self think. A huge bright white light flashes and the smoke is blown away as two bolts strike the stage. Shadow is knelt down on the stage facing the floor. As Portland welcomes the PWC Legacy Champion.
A sole spot light shines upon him. He slowly raises his head as he rises to his feet and begins to pace menacingly towards the ring. Though he is not a large man this entrance is enough to strike fear into most men. Shadow points to his waist with the golden Legacy Title sits, he taps it once for luck and continues on his way. He walks around the ring to the far right ring post and climbs up it from the outside. Shadow stares off into the raucous crowd nodding his head to the beat of his song and the massive ovation he is getting. He takes down his hood, unbuckles the Legacy title and raises it in his right arm slowly, before hopping into the ring. He removes his jacket and drops it out of the ring and hands over his precious prize to the referee. The lights come up and he crouches in the corner.
Mason: Introducing first from The Darkness, weighing in at 210lbs, the Legacy Champion, Shadow!
Chambers: Well fans, I…I…
Daiko: Come on, Stan. Pull yourself together.
Chambers: You’re right of course, I apologize ladies and gentleman, it’s my job to remain professional out here.
Daiko: Yes, so do your job.
Chambers: This is Shadow, this is your Legacy Champion. Last week on Vortex, Shadow defeated Barney Williams to retain his title in his first ever defence, proving that he has what it takes to carry the responsibility that comes with the Legacy Title, a title held by some of the best PWC has ever seen. Daiko, you’ve competed against Shadow, what does he bring to the table as champion.
Daiko: He’s a fierce competitor. You don’t win that belt against some of the best we have to offer by not being good. I thought he did a great job against Barney Williams last week, but Crowley and Hammerpunch are a completely different level.
Chambers: Of course Shadow defeated Crowley to win that belt in the first place, with both men having a long and storied history.
Mason: And his partner from the city of Angels, weighing in at 225lbs, Austin Angel!
***On My Own***
On my Own starts playing in the background with the Portland crowd greeting Austin Angel. It isn’t the usual full positive reaction though, as some in the audience haven’t appreciated Angel’s action of late. Angel comes out through the curtain again, continuing to abandon his old entrance through the crowd. This time though Angel stands on stage with an intense expression painted all over his face. He strides down to the ring, ignoring all the fans with his eyes locked on Shadow. He slides into the ring and bounces off the ropes to warm up. Shadow extends his hand out for a handshake to his partner. Angel looks down at the Legacy Champions offer. First he takes his AA t-shirt off, throws it aside looks down at the hand shake offer one more time and slaps Shadow’s hand reluctantly. Shadow gives Angel a sideways look but AA has his eyes on the stage and ignores the Legacy Champion.
Daiko: Well it looks like a lot of these people realize what I’ve known about Angel all along. The man just cares about himself. Did you hear those comments from earlier this week, he doesn’t care what the fans think? And did you see that poor excuse for a handshake.
Chambers: Come on Daiko, I agree that this isn’t the Angel we’ve come to know and love….
Daiko: Love? Speak for yourself. And I’m just calling it like I see it.
Chambers: But you can’t argue with results. He’s on probably the best winning streak of his career. And I'm sure this is more him trying to bring out that competitive spirit so many felt he lacks upon his return.
Mason: And their opponents, from the Dragon’s Lair, weighing in at 235lbs, Donald Hammerpunch!
***War Machine***
War Machine starts playing as the former World Champion, Donald Hammerpunch appears from behind the curtains. Hammerpunch has a bow staff with him this time and begins his now customary demonstration for the fans as pyro goes off with every strike. Hammerpunch bows to his adoring public before walking down the ramp towards the ring with Shadow and Austin Angel in his sights.
Chambers: According to the office of our Ms. Page, Hammerpunch’s students and Crowley followers will not be allowed at ringside.
Daiko: It’s not like they need anymore combustible elements in this match then they already have. You have to believe that Donald Hammerpunch and Crowley can’t co-exist, its impossible. Even under normal circumstances. This is like oil and water, I can’t imagine them even being in the same ring without trying to tear eachothers heads off.
Mason: And his partner, the World Heavyweight Champion, from Casalesi, Italy, weighing in at 210lbs, Crowley!
***Domination***
Crowley’s entrance music Domination begins to play with the entire arena going dim and an eerie silence falling over the crowd. As the music plays smoke begins to fill the stage until finally Crowley’s followers appear all cloaked in black. They carry a throne on their shoulders and seating on that throne is Crowley with his newly minted crown melted down from the gold that was the World Heavyweight title belt. Hammerpunch immediately goes to the referee and points out that Crowley’s followers are not allowed to be here, with Roger Hains heading over to the World Champion. Crowley sees him coming and orders his minions to place him on the ground. He stands up and stares daggers into Hains who backs away for a moment. With a wave of his hand he dismisses his followers who lift his throne once more and leave. He takes off his crown and hands it to Hains before making his way to the ring. Donald Hammerpunch hasn’t taken his eyes off Crowley, he shakes his head as Hains passes him with the crown.
Chambers: It’s obvious that what Crowley did to that title belt was just too much disrespect in Hammerpunch’s mind for him to stand.
Daiko: Hammerpunch wants to go around telling people what a good role model he is, here’s his chance to prove it. Time to show how professional of a professional wrestler he really is by being a good tag team partner.
Referee Roger Hains calls for one member of each team to leave the ring as the match gets underway.
Hammerpunch and Crowley are locked in a staredown. Both men are in their corners and haven’t said a word to each other with both locked in almost a battle of wills for who will blink first. On the other side Shadow and Angel are arguing about who should start the match first with Angel pointing to himself and insisting he should start but Shadow telling Angel he wants his old rival Crowley and he should start so he can call him out. Roger Hains shakes his head and throws up his hands in exasperation again ordering all four men to make up their minds. Finally Shadow tries to be the better man, takes a deep breath and heads to the apron. Angel smiles and calls on either Hammerpunch or Crowley to bring it. For their part the No. 1 Contender and Champion still haven’t moved from their positions still locked in an intense staredown. Hains goes up to both men and demands they make up their minds but it looks like their minds will be made up for them. Angel comes bursting in with the double running dropkick knocking Crowley out of the ring and Hammerpunch against the turnbuckle. Angel quickly pulls Hammerpunch to the middle of the ring and begins the beatdown, stomping down on the prone man and delivering one intense blow after the other. Shadow shakes his head at Angel in their corner, not happy after he jumped them the way he did. Austin Angel isn’t wasting anytime though, firing off with hard forearm shots to the grounded Hammerpunch and then running the ropes and flying in with the low dropkick nailing the former Champion right in the face. Angel grounds the Champion with one big shot after the other. Hammerpunch tries to fight back, pushing his foe away and firing back with a shot of his own. The martial Arts Master finally manages to get back up to a seated position again Angel knocked him straight back down with the Handspring Pele Kick. The former Champion goes down with Angel wrapping the arm and making the cover. Hains slides in to make the count.
One…
Two…
Kickout! Hammerpunch kicks out at two with Angel again showing incredible intensity by going straight for the leg, dropping the knee to the ankle and then locking in the Ankle Lock and grapevining the leg. Hammerpunch who’s had a history of leg injuries goes to try and grab the bottom rope near his corner as he stretches out his arm and looks up to see a very disinterested Crowley yawning in their corner. The fire builds for the former Champion as he sucks up the pain and shows how strong he is by dragging Angel all the way to the ropes. Angel immediately looks to stand up and drag his foe back to the middle of the ring but this time Hammerpunch turns around and boots the highflyer back into his corner. Angel goes flying backwards and hits his corner. Shadow looks at the crowd, then Angel, shrugs and tags himself in. Angel can’t believe it with both men having a long stare down until Referee Hains orders Angel onto the apron. Shadow simply points to the apron as Angel ruefully stepping out of the ring. Hammerpunch looks back at his partner, still standing on the apron with Crowley extending out a hand for the tag. Hammerpunch looks down at the hand and goes to make the tag but Crowley takes his hand away at the last second. The boos ring out throughout the Moda Center with Crowley having a good laugh. Again the World Champion extends out his hand for the tag, this time Hammerpunch turns around in disgust and faces Shadow in the ring ignoring his tag partner with Crowley shrugging.
The Legacy Champion Shadow gives Hammerpunch a respectful nod with the former World Champion doing the same. Both men circle each other for a moment for exploding into an attack. Shadow goes straight for the leg, but Hammerpunch sidesteps and unleashes and quick fire spinning kick but the Legacy Champion shows his own quickness by dodging the attack and leaping into the air and wrapping his legs around his opponent for the Hurricanrana. The Donjitshu master springs off the ground with his hands and finds his feet once move. Shadow looks to quicken the pace and immediately hits the ropes and looks to springboard off and hit the Springboard dropkick. Hammerpunch evades yet again and when Shadow hits the ground goes for the Thrust Kick aimed directly at his head. Shadow shows immense dexterity, arching his back and dodging the attack. He kips up and looks to hit a Standing Enzuigiri. Hammerpunch blocks the attack with his left hand and fires back with the straight palm strike to the chest. Shadow takes two steps back and hits back with the Backhand Chop to the jaw. Both men stagger back but go on the attack once more. The Donjitshu Master spins on his good leg and goes for the Discus back Elbow but Shadow rolls through, kips up once more and goes for the Code Black. Hammerpunch grabs his foe and blocks the attack before pushing the Legacy Champion away. Both men end their incredible exchange in the fighting stance with the Portland crowd erupting after the spectacular skills displayed by both men.
Again both men nod their respect to the other with the crowd appreciating every moment until Hammerpunch goes down!
The crowd can’t believe it, with the entire arena fills with jeering from the fans. Standing over Hammerpunch is Crowley with a smirk painted all over his face. Shadow can’t believe it either with the World Champion pulling Hammerpunch to feet, hooking the arms and then dropping him to the mat with the Devillock DDT! Referee Roger Hains tries to get Crowley out of the ring with Shadow himself going after his old rival, but the Champion simply slides underneath the bottom rope, grabs his crown at the timekeeper’s area and leaves the ringside still wearing a sick demented smile.
Chambers: Crowley had absolutely no intention of even making this match fair.
Daiko: Why would he. This is Crowley we’re talking about. He's has a match against one of most dominate Champions in Hammerpunch we've had. In what world would that man even consider having a “fair” tag team match with Hammerpunch as his partner. Crowley cares about that crown and being the World Champion.
Shadow shakes his head in disgust and walks over to his corner when Austin Angel makes the tag. Shadow has a stunned look on his face and asks Angel what the hell he thinks he’s doing. Angel motions for Referee Roger Hains to get Shadow out of the ring with the PWC star scaling up the turnbuckles to the top rope. The fans in attendance can’t believe it, with Shadow powerless to stop it. Angel points down at the helpless Hammerpunch, leaps off the top rope and comes crashing down on Hammerpunch with the Fall from Heaven! The boos are deafening as Angel covers Hammerpunch and demands Referee Hains make the count.
One…
Shadow considers breaking up the pin.
Two…
But it’s too late now.
It’s Over!
Winners: Shadow & Austin Angel
***On My Own***
Daiko: What did I say, this is the real Austin Angel, I’ve been telling you people this forever and finally he shows his true colours for the world to see.
Chambers: I can’t believe Angel did that.
Angel celebrates the win, punching the air and raising his hand for all to see. Roger Hains helps Hammerpunch out of the ring with Shadow making sure to check on the brave warrior as he does. Angel climbs the turnbuckle letting everyone in attendance know that he beat two former World Champions in his last three matches. The disgust on Shadow’s face is plain to see as he pulls Angel off the middle rope and demands to know what he thought he was doing with Hammerpunch defenceless like that. Angel lets out a cocky grin. He throws up his arms and points to the exit, indicating he wants no part of Shadow. Referee Hains brings in Shadow’s Legacy title and the split second of hesitation is all AA needed, as he decks Shadow with a hard right hand to the jaw. Shadow goes down in a heap with Angel dusting his heels off behind him on the fallen Champion. The crowd are in shock with Angel spotting the Legacy title in Roger Hains hands. He pulls it from the official, looks down at it for a moment and then lifts it up to a torrent of boos before throwing it on a groggy Shadow and taking his leave.
Chambers: Well it looks like this new Austin Angel is after one thing, the Legacy Title.
Back in her office Ms. Page watches eagerly as the final shocking moments of the main event plays out. She has a huge smile on her face as Austin Angel shockingly turns on Shadow.
Page: I always knew he had that in him.
Ms. Page stands up and walks towards a bottle of expensive red wine on a table near her desk before pouring herself a glass. She takes the glass up to her nose before taking a deep sip.
Page: Another great show and it’ll only get better next week.
Ms. Page swirls the wine in the glass around for a moment when the door behind her suddenly opens slowly.
Page turns around slowly to the sound of wine being poured behind her.
Page: What did I say about disturbing me again?
Ms. Page spins around with her face turning pale as if she had just seen a ghost.
Page: I…It’s…..It’s you.
The man pours a glass of wine for himself and then turns around to meet Page's shocked gaze, that man is Ernesto Clement!
Clement: Ms. Page, how good to see you again. Love what you’ve done to my office.
Clement smiles as Vortex goes off the air.
