Congrats to Dark Andre for the sports title, looking forward to an absolute burial in the Wrestling Division final. I want a win via body-bad and/or crucifixion. Nothing less will be acceptable.
I'll also put my hand up if you need anyone to do judging for any other divisions.
The debate for the Wrestling Title is pretty interesting. Probably not what you're expecting or one with an easy answer. I think it's an interesting out of the box debate but it could go either way.
Forgot to post these but Clique ended up judging the Wrestling Semi's too.
greendayedgehead, I was thoroughly intrigued by this debate. Your examples resonated to the core theme of your position about talent and booking persevering. As long as reactions are present Ziggler will not be hurt. The reason why he will not be hurt were direct but credible because you not only looked at it from the fan’s perspective but you added that the company will push who the fans will pay to see regardless of how they feel. The character will either continue with his heel or face alignment or make a turn. That is a convincing argument to your stance.
The Wrestling Junkie also shed light on those ideas and it is what made both of your debates so sound. I thank The Wrestling Junkie for providing a video because it was an evident example of “any reaction is a good reaction” which was at the center of your argument. The distinction between heel performers who did not get noteworthy reactions (stagnant card position) versus heels who may get heat or a babyface pop on any given event (top of the card successful) was effective.
Tough one to call here I’ll have to give it to greendayedgehead
Evolution directed quite a few questions to his audience which engages the reader with his argument. Debate A also presented some awesome examples of the good the World Title has done for superstars like Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler. The point about the World Title serving as a springboard to the main event enhanced your point about its significance in WWE today. I liked that Debate A took the position of maybe the WWE Title and the World Heavyweight Title are not equal but that should not take away the relevance it still has in the company.
adrian_zombo offered some compelling reasons why two World Titles are not needed and the benefits of having just one WWE World Champion. His use of footnotes only helped build a great foundation on the stance he took providing examples of paper champions who may have a World Title to their name but without legit prominence. The argument and current examples made against the World Heavyweight Title which led to the importance of having just the WWE Title and stronger midcard made an even stronger case and adrian_zombo sold me on the idea more.
Winner – adrian_zombo
