Re: TDL II: SECOND WAVE - THE CARD

All the judging is in now~! I'll try and post the results today but I've got stuff planned. If not then I'll guarantee they'll be posted on Sunday.

Re: TDL II: SECOND WAVE - THE CARD

I'm looking forward to the advice given on mine. My rough draft started with 2000 words and I managed to get it down to 800, but I feel it could have been better.

Re: TDL II: SECOND WAVE - THE CARD

The QB debate was my favourite to read and really hard to judge.

Exciting, regardless of winning or losing but to see the review you get on your debate is very anticipating especially when you get good reviews.

Re: TDL II: SECOND WAVE - THE CARD

I was in far over my head with the economics question. I couldn't think of any way to include info about both China's current economic situation and relevant bits about Chinese society in 800 words or less so I just gave up, chopped out entire paragraphs and submitted whatever was left.

I'm the least financially inclined person alive and arguing pro or con a topic I lack any depth of knowledge on, and don't care enough to educate myself about, was a chore – though I guess formulating rational arguments about a range of topics, including ones you may find challenging, is what a solid debater does.

That's one reason I'm curious to see SPCDRI's submission since I'm sure he understands loads more about the subject than I do – or, if he didn't before, does now. I consider the topic we were given the type to separate the real debaters from the posers. Good work by the TDL folks!
