First things first, signing up doesn't guarantee you a place on any card or even necessarily on the roster to begin with. We'll do our best to accommodate everyone who signs up but depending on the volume that do it may not be entirely possible.
Before signing up please read the Introduction/Rules Thread to familiarise yourselves with the concept. You can also check out the Archive section to get a clearer understanding of what the topics and debates will look like. Please note that we're running this TDL slightly differently. Again, refer to the Introduction Thread.
Sign Up Template: Division
Will Debate
Won't Debate
Please use the template. If you can't follow a simple template then this probably isn't for you anyway.
You can sign up to one division and one division only so choose wisely. We'll do our best to delegate topics that fit in with the areas you want to debate. The more topics you're open to debating the more likely you are to get booked on cards. If you only willing to debate WWF circa 1990-1992 then you might be waiting a long time in between debates. If we assign you a topic that's outside your preferences then we'll check with you first before announcing the card.
Division: Sport
Will Debate:Football (English Premier League, Champions League, International, A-League.), Cricket, Tennis, NRL.
Won't Debate: Any other sport
Available for Show 1: Yes
Division: Wrestling Will Debate: Wrestling since the 80s (WWF/E, WCW, ECW, NWA, AWA, TNA) Won't Debate: Every promotion outside of North America Available for show 1: Yes
Division: Wrestling, Sport
Will Debate: WWE (90s onwards), Football.
Won't Debate: Anything that isn't in the two I will do unless there is a wacky/fun topic. I don't think I could be bothered with a serious topic involving politics/religion etc.
Available for Show 1? Yes.
Soccer would be my main go to here. There are plenty of guys here that know more about wrestling than me, but not many that know more about soccer. I could write pages and pages about the offside law for example.
If you don't want me in this thing that's fine. I just think I could have a really good formal debate with Kiz over FFP for example. I'm fine with just being the contrary voice in the football threads.
Ugh. I'm sure you could too. There's an upper word count limit for a reason though so "I could write pages and pages about the offside law for example. " isn't any use. You need to be succinct and to the point. I'm just pointing this out before we get going.
Will Debate: Philosophy, psychology/child psychology, the 90s and pretty much anything occurring within, books, sci-fi/fantasy television shows/books/movies from the 90s - current, education, sociology and cultural/nationality-related topics, law, criminology, pharmacology, environmental topics, random interesting shit.
Won't Debate: gun control, women's issues, gay rights/marriage, generally overdone overplayed stale issues that have been argued to death a hundred times over to the point where nothing new could possibly be said about them. ever.
Division: Sports
Will Debate: American football, baseball, basketball, NCAA sports, could do a little bit of hockey
Won't Debate: MMA, European sports (soccer, cricket, etc.).
Available for Show 1? Yes.
I'm afraid I need to pull out for personal reasons, at least for show 1. I don't know how much i'll be around in the coming weeks, and it's only fair that I don't take a chance and assume that i'll be available for the debates. Really sucks since this is exactly the type of thing I would see myself getting into.
Division - Wrestling
Will Debate - All that good shiz
Won't Debate - Older lucha b/c I'll get schooled.
Available for Show 1? - you bet your sweet bibby I am.
And while the law of competition may be sometimes hard for the individual, it is best for the race, because it ensures the survival of the fittest in every department .
