A message to all active debaters

I'm making an open challenge to anyone who has a winning record. However, a track record to prove you've earned it isn't the only requirement. Whoever wants to face me on this show needs to state, no fuck that, CONVINCE ME why I should pick them above others.

Double duty isn't something to shirk from either, seeing as it's what has defined some of the truly great debaters. No divisional restrictions apply either, so this is also a chance to redefine yourself.

I believe that this new class of debaters has what it takes, but do YOU believe it too? This is your chance to take on a TDL legend. Let's see who has the stones for it and wants to make a name for themselves...

Andre vs Anark

He's back :mark: Considering the talk about Anark having to prove himself as one of the best in the last results thread I can't wait to read both of these debates no matter what the topic is.

Oh and my topic is pretty swell too.

I should face Andre because it's only fitting that he takes a whipping alongside his bum buddy Seabs.

Considering even Seabs is facing me, (unsurprisingly he didn't put his title on the line and instead made a long-winded tournament between everyone in the division so I couldn't snatch the belt off him). I think you should also put up or shut up too. Considering the improvements that have been made, what better way to solidify myself as the GOAT of TDL by defeating two legends in the same night. :jericho2

Added to that it's your chance to take matters into your own hands to protect that coloured user you have. I wouldn't be surprised if you and Seabs were working in cahoots in a (poor) attempt to rob me of my win streak, coloured user and momentum though.

Baxter and Rigby have been in top-card matches, but I've got a legacy to solidify. Come at me bro, if you've got the balls. This might be your last chance to face me before I'm wrestling division champ.

Social, Wrestling or Sports take your pick, son.

I LOVE the topic we got, Nash is one of my favorite players ever and Kidd was always a delight to watch back in the day. The only somewhat annoying this was, the debate was worded as who had the better career, not which player was better in their prime or who had the skill set most conducive to winning. That throws the tiniest of wrenches in my plan, otherwise I shall have zero excuses if I lose because I have tons I could write about for both guys.

I've had the Nash/Kidd/CP3 conversation on Twitter a few times, but I've never really dove into it completely, so this should be a lot of fun.

Also, with no future #1 Contender currently named, it would be good to post a nice, resounding win over someone like Stax. :kobe3

Once Were Wonderful
by Bolo Yeung

Once upon a time, there was a wonderful young debater with an undefeated in singles matches record. But in the shadows lurked a Seabs. And this Seabs got jealous of this heroic undefeated in singles matches record and decided to end it by putting the wonderful, young and handsomely heroic debater on double singles duty against two of the best debaters there has ever been. And the wonderful debater quaked in his boots. And thus, a beautiful streak was ended in despicable fashion. But unbeknownst to this evil Seabs, in glorious defeat, respect was earned from all by this truly wonderful debater.

Years later, that wonderful, young debater grew up and overcame all the obstacles that were placed before him and conquered them again and again. He eventually won the championship in a multi-man match that the evil Seabs thought was this wonderful debater’s main weakness but instead of losing horribly as planned, he beat all three opponents and triumphed to become the champion of all he surveyed. And the crowd went wild.

But his celebration was cut short as this wonderful, now middle-aged, debater was immediately made to defend his hard fought and blood spattered title in a music debate against a music specialist debater. He fought hard, got a vote, but was ultimately outclassed. But this wonderful debater didn’t cry. He didn’t wallow in self-pity. He picked himself up and smashed that music specialist 3-0 in the non-music specialist rematch. He then smashed him 3-0 again just to make sure.

At the top of a tower somewhere in a land probably populated by orcs, the evil Seabs plotted and planned. When the time was right, he unleashed his special weapon against the still wonderful debater. A special weapon who was an all round Social Division specialist, raised from the ranks of the dojo; younger, hungrier, and with a turn of phrase unmatched in the entirety of TDL.

And the wonderful debater did quake.

All thought he would fall. All thought the Era of Anark was over. All believed that the wonderful debater was to be slain by an even wonderfuller debater.

And so they clashed. And the crowd chanted for their new hero. They sang songs of his inevitable victory. They danced on the patch of ground where they believed the once great Anark would be buried under the unrelenting onslaught of Rigby’s really rather lovely turn of phrase.

But then the crowd fell silent. The new champion-elect staggered backwards from a terrible blow. The great white hope Rigby dropped to his knees and glanced forlornly up at his foe. Anark stood above him, smiling wickedly. With a glimpse of insanity dancing behind his eyes, Anark swung his Logic Hammer one more time; so fiercely that Rigby’s head came clean off and disappeared into outer space, never to return.

Seabs muttered and murmured and plotted and planned. In his rage he sent forth another youngster, a Scottish drunken dropkick specialist, and stooped to producing genuinely terrible judging to wrench the title away from the now beloved Anark. But the people knew what had happened. One particular person made his thoughts known, and the victory wasn’t celebrated. Instead the rematch was arranged and Anark rightfully smashed his inferior foe 3-0. And thus the rebellion was quelled. The wonderful debater Anark defeated the pretender 3-0 twice more and it seemed there was no one left to challenge him.

Then, one sunny Easter Sunday morning, the wonderful, now really old, debater woke up to discover that not only had the evil Seabs retrieved a former Social Division champion from the depths of hell to challenge him, but that he must also face a TDL legend on the same card.

The double duty trick had served the evil Seabs well in the past. Would it serve him well again? Only time would tell. But time was not on the wonderful debater’s side. In fact, nobody was on the wonderful debater’s side anymore. So afraid of the evil Seabs were they that they flocked to his side to taunt Anark and regale themselves with new songs of his imminent demise. But this time, that wonderful debater did not quake. This time, that wonderful debater smiled.

And it was a wicked smile.
