Re: TDL XI: MANY A PRINCE, BUT ONLY ONE A KING - THE RESULTS

I had a fun time with my debate topic. Thank you, Woolcock, TLK and Rush, for your judging feedback. I feel that I really improved my performance over my initial debate in which I got completely destroyed. Even though I didn't win, my showing was much better and I plan to continue improving. Also, thanks again to Seabs for allowing me to participate.

or maybe I just get basketball debates because seabs has a hard on for me debating about BASKETBALL.

PP watches everything I'm pretty sure(not sure if he still watches basketball because lolPistons). I just said JIM as he would probably make the best judge and it's kind of hard to say who else would a good judge/what you're looking for. Mrmr obviously knows his shit too, but his judging isn't what you guys want out of a judge so lel.
Considering the questions that have been asked, nothing has been at a level where I wouldn't already have a good enough base to competently assess something. When I say I haven't followed basketball for the last couple years, it basically means that I've stopped doing fantasy basketball where I knew everyone's averages across every stat category. I've maintained that with the other three. If you want a resume, I'd be happy to fill one out.

I'll happily do a NA-sports themed run of Dojo matches as well, if that helps any.

You shouldn't be dishearted by that entry. I liked the concept and thought, but given how Anark especially broke down so many aspects of the internet, I feel you weren't able to eclipse him given you argued the same point (abuse of the internet is a human problem), whereas he was able to argue assuredly for the internet doing more good than harm, and in the process cover more areas to substantiate his claim. Your effort was certainly an improvement however on your debate vs Seabs, so definitely be satisfied with your current progress.

I'm rather proud of it actually. Especially considering my first go at TDL.

I'm glad that my casual, persuasive style was appreciated but the feedback made me realize I need to combine that with more factual evidence, plus looking at both sides of the debate better, to have a more well-rounded debate.

Heh... if I didn't improve, I don't think Seabs would continue allowing me to participate. I like to think he gave me this upcoming match with Clique because I have improved so much. Either that or he's just sadistic. Maybe it's 50/50 lol but I am still happy to be participating.

I've typed up my next debate in one sitting, the same as before. This time I am not going to send it in right away. I've got time to think about it and fine tune it. I plan on putting that time to good use.

"Just please leave my house before noon."

Such a true statement.
