Re: TDL X: STACKED - THE RESULTS

Well played, Andre. A worthy victor. Good experience for me though - at least I know I'm thinking like a champ, if not necessarily conveying my points like one yet. Anytime you want a rematch, though, I'm up for that. It was nice to get out of my comfort zone for once.

Shame scrilla doesn't have the balls for TDL though. Would love to shut that little bitch up in a debate!

Re: TDL X: STACKED - THE RESULTS

Another tight defeat, but I can't complain. Proud to have kept it respectable, but it does appear I've reached my level for the time being. Tried to be more direct and inject my personality this time around, save relying on my analysis and often in depth vocabulary to bring me victory.

Special mention to Shep and BULK for two strong entries for debutants. Hope you both stick around because for a first time effort both of those efforts were tickety-boo and the Wrestling/Sports Divisions will only be enhanced by your continued participation

Andre, I'm not quite sure how you muster it but I'll tip my hat off to you for another stellar outing(s). Excellent work all around from you and you're a true credit to TDL.

Clique, . Was a pleasure to judge that outing and Destros I hope you're not too despondent to be bested by that entry. A rematch would be an absolute pleasure to judge, hats off to both of you.

Hanoi . Great first outing and hopefully the feedback is a learning curve that only leads to a greater entry from you, be proud of that for a first try. It eclipsed mine with ease. Blarg, stellar work on your part and you're proving to be as adaptable to TDL as I envisaged.

Lastly, Greg. An absolute credit as an opponent and I look forward to the man who bests you, because I can accept based on two outings it's a feat that seemingly exceeds my capability. A first class debater and a worthy champion for what I'd consider the strongest division to date across all 10 shows. Hopefully the challengers maintain a respectable level of competition that pushes you to your best, because it has produced some amazing debates since your return. Best of luck in your future outings

Congrats to everyone else, namely CamillePunk, ZOMBO, Anark & CGS. Great work by you all!

Am i the only one to defeat Andre? Perfect 1-0 record over that faggot. Clearly the Norwich to my Liverpool

I really liked the debate and it probably would've won against most of the others in the sports division. It was a hard one to comment on b/c there wasn't anything really wrong with the debate at all. I really just wanted to say "This is really well done, but read the other debate and its clear that while you're both hitting the nail on the head, its just that bit better"

Re: TDL X: STACKED - THE RESULTS

Great work folks-- another super show, great write-up, and solid entries all around. I figured I'd get destroyed with those last-minute efforts, but I had better feedback than I expected. Looking forward to next time out. I don't have any contracts 'til the New Year now, so I'm excited to see what comes with a solid effort.

Either way, though, my debate with BOLO landed fairly well still, and he just upped the effort and put in a winning card. Good show, brother. Good luck on your future cards.

Snobs in our head; marks in our heart.

Re: TDL X: STACKED - THE RESULTS

To be honest the topic completely through me off, I had no idea what to debate about.

Can any of the judges state what they would've debated about for the topic, just to satisfy my curiosity.

Re: TDL X: STACKED - THE RESULTS

For - Increase the amount of experience that state players can get. ie you could add another batsman to your order and give him experience at the state level, get him in form etc, could add another spinner so sides get accustomed to playing spin on wearing wickets. Can be used to give a young bowler an opportunity at that elite level. Could reduce injuries as there is less strain on young fast bowlers so it could potentially reduce the number of stress fractures which are becoming more prevalent in cricket ie Starc, Bird, Patiinson, Cummins, Hazlewood are all youngsters that are either out or just coming back from stress fractures, some of which aren't the first occasion its happened. Reduces the impact that an injury does have on a bowling side. Can promote more results.

Against: Can be abused by selectors/teams. A sub system already caused problems in international cricket. Could have the opposite effect of causing more results by decreasing results b/c teams use the loophole to stick that extra batsman in their side. Pitches can be cooked to allow teams to field an extra spinner as 12th man to spin sides out on the last day. Its an unnecessary and not needed change, not traditional etc
