Default Was there legit heat with Vince & JR in 96?

Watching the best of In Your House and JR's mic goes out during the Austin/HHH match. JR's mic starts working again and he takes a shot at people from Connecticut and calls it an overpriced hell hole. About a minute later his mic starts having problems again. A couple of the close ups of JR he looks pissed off. Goes as far to say isn't it great to be in the major leagues? Hmmmmm. I wonder if Vince was behind this? Maybe they were having contract disputes? Hell if I know.

It was a work, but it was based off some real issues.

during that storyline, JR brought fake Diesel and Razor.

Hahaha. I remember being 8 years old and seeing this live. Wondering "who the fuck are these guys" and wondering why JR was screaming "how do you like that WWF?!"

Mind Games was the beginning of JR's heel turn, which didn't last very long.

I've been re-watching a lot of 1996 and I loved the angle where they were treating JR like shit. His microphones were always cutting out and he'd get really pissed off. Watching him lose his shit really made me laugh.

Watching more 96 stuff lately I remember this now. I watched more WCW than WWF in 96. Probably the only year ever I did that.

I love his '99 heel turn even more - his own table and Dr. Death. Did he get booed? Not even close.

Dat JR reaction.
