Re: Top 10 PPV's of Attitude Era (WrestleMania 13 - WrestleMania 17)

Survivor Series 1998 gets a ton of shit. Yes not a great PPV match quality wise but it was super fun. Not everything has to be a 5 star classic. Just my two cents.

I have been thinking of this topic all day. I will have to do some serious thinking.

My top 5 favorite wrestlers of all time
1. Macho Man Randy Savage (RIP...thanks for the memories)
2. Mick Foley (Cactus Jack)
3. Bret Hart (The Hart Foundation best tag team ever)
4. Sting
5. Ted DiBiase (best heel of all time)

Absolutely. Complete unfair criticism for SS 98. It was classic Attitude era unpredictability at its best and one of the best swerves we've witnessed.

It's a real tough decision isn't it?! Not to be rushed into haha

Re: Top 10 PPV's of Attitude Era (WrestleMania 13 - WrestleMania 17)

Wrestlemania 13 is a New Generation PPV in my opnion. I would put Mania 14 as the first pay per view of the Attitude Era. The New Generation didn't really end until the face of the New Generation left at Survivor Series 1997. It was HBK (another New Generation guy) was the one who passed the torch to Austin instead of Bret since he left. It's like when HHH passed the torch to the OVW class of 2002 because of Rock and Austin's departures.

I see what your saying but the Attitude Era was underway well before Mania 14. Things started to take shape, progress and become "Attitude" around the summer of 1997. When you watch it now, you can clearly see this.

everything pre-WM 14 doesn't count according to WWE.

Re: Top 10 PPV's of Attitude Era (WrestleMania 13 - WrestleMania 17)

i agree that attitude era didn't really OFFICIALLY start until wm 14 so i wouldn't necessarily consider the vast majority of 97' to be attitude.....although it's true they began showing SOME elements of attitude as early as wm 13 with the hart/austin match.....but if i had to put an official stamp on it it would be right around when the RTWM14 began
