Re: Wrestlers who abandoned maneuvers

Eddie used a simple Cloverleaf a few times in 2005 after his heel turn but never the one with the knee on the back after 2002. He beat Hardcore Holly with the 'leaf once. Also Edge used the Edgecator even after 2004. He used it in the Royal Rumble 05 against HBK and won a few matches with it afterwards. It was abandoned for years but he brought it back for a few months before he retired in 2011.

Randy Orton's Crossbody was a signature move from 2002-2005 but then he abandoned it after that. He went for it, like five times in 2006-2007 and the last time he ever did the move was at Wrestlemania XXIV. Somebody mentioned the O-Zone (Overdriver) which was his finisher briefly in 2002. Another move of his that he's gone back and forth with is the Gutwrench Neckbreaker. He used it quite a bit from 2003-2005 and then ditched it before bringing it back in 2011 for a short while. Haven't seen him use it in a couple of years now.

Sheamus hasn't used Pale Justice/High Cross/Razor's Edge since 2010. He's set it up a few times but never connected with it.

Re: Wrestlers who abandoned maneuvers

A lot of wrestlers abandoning moves as they get older. Bret stopped doing the drop kick.

A front facelock is debilitating in a real fight, but if someone won a pro wrestling match with it the audience would shit all over it.

Re: Wrestlers who abandoned maneuvers

I have nothing to contribute but the edgecator is one of my all time favourite manoeuvres. I'm glad others liked it so much too.

Re: Wrestlers who abandoned maneuvers

Mr.Kennedy abandoned The Green Bay Plunge in 2007 in favor of the Mic Check.

He used the standing version of it a few times, but stopped using the top rope version.

Merry
Christmas!

Re: Wrestlers who abandoned maneuvers

I didn't notice it being mentioned unless I didn't see it but the reason Punk dropped the Pepsi Plunge cause it he didn't want to fuck up his knees doing it constantly it has nothing to do with HHH and his Pedigree.
