Default Analyze This: Kayfabe Brotherhood

Arn and Ole Anderson, Kane and Undertaker, Edge and Christian, Dudleys, Bart and Billy Gunn are some of the more prominent examples of Kayfabe brotherhood. They are not brothers and not necessarily even friends in real life but act as brothers and a team in the kayfabe world of pro-wrestling.

Just that during and before Anderson's days, they were as real as they can get for kayfabe was kept a secret and sources were few and far between. Their act was just great and the looks matched that you had to believe. It was one of the things that got lost with kayfabe.

Coming to the topic, do you think that it is any longer possible for kayfabe brothers being as good in performance or as successful as before? Who were the best kayfabe brothers when you did not know that they were not brothers yet?

To me, The brothers of destruction had their act perfect for Kane had a mask and they matched in size giving them an element of believe-ability considering their back story where their brotherhood was used.

-I don't think so.

-WWE splits up tag-teams the moment they became popular and will do a brother vs brother storyline for the nth time

Gene and Ole Anderson were very popular in Georgia in the 70's, obviously as kayfabe brothers.. The WWE machine isn't consistent enough with there booking policies to keep kayfabe brothers around.. Edge and Christain are best friends now.
