Re: How did HBK have so much influence over Vince?

Shawn Michaels was the best wrestler in north america at this time if he was left to WCW like Hall, Nash etc.. Vince would be out of busines. When you're biggest star talk you shut your mouth

Bret Hart can said all the bs what he wants, HBK had more charisma than him, was a better entertainer, and was way more good on the mic

Re: How did HBK have so much influence over Vince?

Shawn was the one who encouraged Vince to go the way of the Attitude Era if he wanted to compete with WCW. They were on the verge of going out of business. And, it obviously worked.

Also, if things weren't going good for a particular wrestler, back then, Vince liked it if that wrestler got in his face alittle bit and aired their grievances with Vince to his face, rather than just go behind his back and bitch about it. Shawn did that, too. Shawn also went to Vince with some of his ideas, which guys like Bret never did. Overcoming WCW, Shawn made part of his mission, too. Some of the other guys didn't care that much, as long as they were making their money. Shawn was a prick, but he cared, and wanted the WWF to make it and beat WCW, which they did.

Re: How did HBK have so much influence over Vince?

Bob Holly wrote about it in his book. First of hhh had no power back then. Alot of people say hhh buried rock but that isn't true. Triple h was very quiet and humble backstage during that time. Hbk and the clique had all the power and they wanted all the money for thenselvesv therefor they only wanted to wrestle eachother for championships. Holly said he think it was because Hbk had something on Vince.

Vince probably made a deal with Shawn to help maintain Linda's sexual needs when he's already at a point of his life where he's erecticaly incapable.

Re: How did HBK have so much influence over Vince?

Loyalty had to play a part in Shawn having influence over Vince, because while WCW was the hot ticket at the time and while a lot of people were jumping ship, Shawn was one of the people that stayed with the WWE.
