Re: Turning Hogan heel during WWF run

Hogan's so full of it. I can see why Vince doesn't deal with his buffoonery. Hogan's too insecure as a man to be a heel. Anyway, after his match with Warrior would've been perfect, since Warrior was the face of the company then.

Re: Turning Hogan heel during WWF run

nope. it never would have worked out good. plus, we wouldn't have NWO. and therefore, we wouldn't have had the attitude era.

this is a man who almost missed the fucking show that he turned heel on. that's how much he loved being a face.

Re: Turning Hogan heel during WWF run

I'm sure all top faces have gone through some points (maybe save Austin) where they just like having their ass kissed so much, that they don't want to turn.

I can't say I'd probably be any different. Everyone to a degree likes having their ego stroked. The problem with Hogan, Bret, and Cena is, they seem to have a hard time differentiating between their real personality and their character.

With that said it was and is the reason for why they became so successful. Well except for Cena fans bought into them for that very reason.

The same with Austin.

Re: Turning Hogan heel during WWF run

It could have been done well obviously but it wouldn't have been as epic as the nWo heel turn. That was just the perfect timing. When the nWo thing happened Hogan's popularity had really started to go down, he saw the writing on the wall and this was basically an effort to rejuvenate his career. He wouldn't have done that in the early 90's in the WWF because despite not being as hot as in the 80's he was still racking in insane merchandise sales etc. It's hard to give that shit up because in Hogan's eyes turning heel probably would have taken those "perks" away. The nWo heel turn was good timing 'cause attitude became cool so his heel turn didn't damage merchandise sales at all.

Re: Turning Hogan heel during WWF run

It would've been good if they'd turned him in 1990. When he came back from his Wrestlemania 6 defeat he should've driven a car into Ultimate Warrior and stolen the championship belt back.
