Re: How many matches Goldberg lost in WCW?
You shouldn't just read results and jump to conclusions. Bret held, like, zero political sway there. If he did, he wouldn't have been wrestling 17 minute matches with Disco Inferno while severely injured.
From everything I can tell, Kevin Nash essentially ran the show there, and it was a gigantic clusterfuck.
A lot of backstage bs is easily ignorable in general, but when you read about the way WCW was run, it really was mind-numbing. It was a mix of ineptitude combined with the worst kind of politicking agenda you've ever seen.
Bret sustained severe concussions in that second match with Goldberg, so much so that they would go on to be career-ending. As far as I can tell, he only wrestled two matches after that, and they were directly after that. He ended up retiring without wrestling any other matches.
Not to mention, the way he beat Goldberg was anything but clean anyway, complete with people attacking Goldberg with baseball bats, so it certainly did nothing to elevate Bret in any way.
The whole thing was poorly booked. WCW in general, was horrendously booked. I still can't understand why people liked it. It was really awful to me.
This is not one you can pin on Hart.
