1st and formost it saved many guys lifes
2nd off it made wrestling easy on them, if he had not done that wrestlers would of been going form place to place no making much money and if they got hurt they would not get paid, it was a VERY hard life before vince came along, he made it more easy then it was
First off, thank you for making such a stupid thread. Secondly, people were going to figure out that wrestling was real sooner or later. It would've damn near been impossible to hide it with the internet hitting people's homes. Are you seriously upset with Vince McMahon for realizing that and using it to his advantage?
Second pro wrestling was not over exposed back then as it is today.
Third if the wwf didn't become so popular in the 80's where Vince Mcmahon felt it was okay to break kayfabe it wouldn't have been broken out of fear of business tanking(it did somewhat, but that is another story and topic).
Fourth MANY media outlets would say pro wrestling was fake, but the mystique was that the WWF/NWA/AWA kept kayfabe and people didn't know EXACTLY how fake it is or how it all "worked".
If someone becomes a fan today it is WAY easier to learn how it all works within a few hours because of all the info online.
Fifth I still think having kayfabe isn't wrong and would actually FORCE the company to be creative without using cheap stunts. It is a reason why the Attitude Era imo had an advantage because it played by different rules than the previous generations.

It was probably half in half by the boom in the 80s. And I don't think losing kayfabe, in the sense it got out it was scripted, was a bad thing. Did some of the mystique go away? Yeah, but it was replaced with the mystique and appreciation of the art form itself for once. I mean, the AE was huge despite nearly everyone knowing it was scripted by that point. And really, the great performers and wrestlers can still make you suspend that disbelief and wonder "was that real?". Also there can still be the "what will happen?! Who will win?!" in matches. That never disappeared.
Thanks for the wonderful memories Ultimate Warrior... happy you got to be recognised as the legend you are before you went. Rest in peace
